The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful. Muslims in India - Forced to convert??

    Report bad ads?

Where all the Muslims in India and indeed Pakistan forced to convert to Islam. Before the 7th century and up to the 15 century there were no Muslims in India. It was only during the Mughal invasion and Mughal empire did Islam come to India through forced conversions and warfare. Up until then all Indians were Hindus who lived for thousands of years in the Indus valley civilization.
Only the lower castes and weaker Indians allowed themselves to be converted through force and brutal methods by the Mughals who imposed their religion on the people.

The Sikhs, Buddhists and Hindus of India today are ones that resisted conversion and thus are freely following a faith of their original ancestors and not a religion that has ever been imposed upon them like Indian and Pakistani, Bangladeshi Muslims.

While the muslims of India and Pakistan still have the shackles of slavery around their necks and are following a faith that was forced upon their ancestors. Up until about 400 to 500 years Muslims of south Asia were all Hindus and were brutally subjugated into following Islam. Why do people not research this and look at their history and become free once again? Why still follow a faith that was forced upon your people.

    Agree or disagree?

Re: Muslims in India - Forced to convert??

Why should not you follow a religion that you think is the right answer and the key to your salvation?
Why you should follow instead religion which was forced upon your ancestors thousands years ago?

Re: Muslims in India - Forced to convert??

Funny argument given that the Aryan invasion brought hinduism to the subcontinent. No one knows or remembers what the original East African migrants and what the Harrapans believed in.

Not to mention the various wars between the north Indians and the South Indians and the genocide perpetrated by Ashoka and other rulers.

It is also funny that you lump Buddhism and Hinduism together when hindus and buddhists were at an all out religious war for many years before hindus eventually won.

And no, there were very few forced conversions. Most of the convsersion work was by Sufi orders and figures like Hz. Moinuddin Chisti, Hz. Nizamuddin Awliya (who was albeit a liberal), Hz. Shah Jalal, etc. Before you say they were standalone, all these sufi orders were funded by the Sultans who supported them to spread islam.

And if as you say, the muslim states "brutalised" hindus (complete hoax created by RSS and hindu nationalists), hindus were between 30-40% of the army and hindus were present in the state court, then hindus are as much to blame as the muslims.

    (EDIT)

Also your idea of history is extremely poor, conversion began in Sindh during the Ummayad-Sindh war under bin Qasim. And the shia conversion happened by the Multan sultante. The conversion slowed down during Abbasids, after the Turks defeated many hindu kingdoms, they set up the Delhi sultanate which was responsible for the largest conversion drive.

In comparasion Mughals did very little for Islam, because in essence they were a secular monarchy and had many hindu soldiers, vassals, statesmen, etc making religious drive impossible. Aurangazeb was the only one was pious and tried to make Islam superior and it didn't go well eventually.

Why should you eat lawful, good, and wholesome food that your parents force on you, why should you accept a mathematical equation which the well meaning and learned teacher forces on you, why can't you use 5.857 for pi instead of 3.142? why should you wear a lawful uniform which the workplace forces on you? Why should you walk along a path which the well meaning state forced on you by building a bridge on that path over the sea?

Questions sound a little immature in terms of logic.....please bring some water-resistant and logical arguments which are more intellectually stimulating.

The moghuls gave their allegiance to the Ottoman Caliphate so in effect it was part of the Ottoman Caliphate, but the Moghuls had complete autonomy

Irrelevant. Also there is no proof Akbar gave bayah, but Babur and Humayun did. Mughals became secularized under Akbar and his son.
