I am born deaf Muslim, I came to this website, because I was hoping that there would be other Muslims with hearing impaired here, so i started this thread.
I kinda feel bad that deaf muslims are not even getting any awareness. Having searched on google about deafness in islam, there aren't really much disucssion about it.
so I kinda want to talk a bit with my brothers here.
We wanted to bring to your attention a course that we're running in the December holidays.
It is our 7th annual course. We shall be going through the full English translation of the Qur'an and also will have a person who will sign (British Sign Language) the translation.
There shall also be other deaf muslim brothers and sisters in attendance.
If there is anyone else that you know that could benefit from this course then please make them aware of it.

where is ur course taking place in? Will you also post video to public aswell? How long the lecture will be?
Do you take your hearing aids off when you make wudhu?
I was told that I didn't have to wash my ears as a child so I haven't been doing it for 20+ years and it's been a habit now.
But lately family member of mine told me that I should start washing them and the reason why they told me not to do it when I was a child was because of my inability to take care of my hearing aids back then and feared the water would damage it.
The thought of taking my aids off, washing my ears then spending another minute drying my hands and ears is just too much.

جزاك الله خيرا for sharing the video of the deaf reciting Qur’an. When you make the intention to do something for the sake of Allah, He opens doors and makes things easy for you.

It is good that you have known it now masha Allah.
Ameen to your dua. I believe that all muslims are equal even disabled, only these who have taqwa are superior but that is judged by Allah only. So no excuse.
May Allah bless that blind boy and grant him into Jannat e firdaus.

Yes, I have met people with special needs and seen how they are affected in different ways. I vaguely recall meeting one or two people who communicated through writing due to being hard of hearing. It requires patience and can be frustrating when you cannot get your message across.
People with special needs are just like anyone else - they have feelings, thoughts and aspirations. Interacting with them helps us to realise this.
Alhamdulillah that Islam is such a comprehensive way of life that in any state we are able to worship and remember Allah. Islam also teaches us to have a positive outlook and appreciate our blessings. Even our trials and hardships are a means of drawing closer to Allah. الحمد لله على كل حال

Ameen.. it’s a gift from Allah. He have many reasons why we have this apart from not hearing or not seeing. Al’Humdulillah we accept the fact and giving us reasons to live with.
