you may remove this post after reading its okay,i just wanna say WHY WOULD THEY NEED 10 kg of SUGAR A MONTH???
10 kg of rice which is essential and 10 kg of sugar????
a person dieing of hunger needs 60 gr of rice and 60 gr sugar a day,are you kidding me?
if you have contact with one of them tell them not to buy sugar but smth else instead, even if you gain 1 kg of rice more a month its way better than 10 kg sugar
some patatoes or cheap pasta so they wouldnt need to eat bread...idk..plenty of options...but not sugar, who even made this list..

Assalaamu Alaikum,
Firstly brother items in a Foodparcel vary depending on a number of different factors. For example it is easier to bring in a variety of foods to countries like Syria via containers but we cannot send containers into Yemen very easily at present so any food items in Yemen will contain whatever we can source within the country itself.
Secondly a Foodparcel will vary depending on which food items are in demand and are used most within that particular country, so in this case sugar is used a lot in Yemen and they use it in a number of different things.
I hope that clarifies things for you inshaAllah.

alaikum salam
Thank you for the explanation.Well i would suggest they get rid of sugar then, and the cost of the foodpack will also drop.Cooking smth with sugar means they will add more ingredients, use more resources, wether with rice they can just eat bland rice.I know this may sound very ugly but people who are dying of hunger dont have the luxury to follow their diet, they should eat whatever they can.
anyway,if you think its better like this then keep doing it.Is there a way i can donate with paypal i dont have a card?

Brother I understand where you are coming from however firstly in a famine then the first priority is survival rather than particular foods so FoodParcels will always contain essentials and whatever is easily available. Also according to our team in Yemen sugar is something that is commonly used by the people in a variety of different things and so it is very useful to the Yemeni people in many different ways. As mentioned before it is also something that is easily sourced and in demand by the people.
Also please bare in mind that I have given you a list of standard food items and weights in our FoodParcels however the types of food and weights will vary and sometimes we can put more in more tinned food whenever it is available as well as many other different things.
I hope that clarifies things for you inshaAllah.
