Will Allah punish him for breaking me?

    Assalam Alaikom everyone,
I was in a relationship with this guy for almost 5 years and we didn’t get married because I was too young and struggling with my studies and he would always say something when I said lets get married and he would always say he is not ready and I wanted to make it halal but he was always saying things. Long story short after breaking up with me he got engaged after 3 months and after that he told me over phone that he got engaged and I should leave him alone. I was devastated because he promised me marriage he showed me dreams he made me believe that he would marry me that’s why I stayed in that relationship and now he got married yesterday. I have been through so much pain but will Allah punish him for causing me so much pain? For lying to me 5 years long? Will Allah punish him for breaking my heart with no mercy shown?

Re: Will Allah punish him for breaking me?

In Islamic tradition the two kiraman katibin (Arabic: كراماً كاتبين‎ ‘honourable scribe’), are two angels called Raqib and Atid, believed by Muslims to record a person's actions. Whether a person is sent to Jannah (paradise) or Jahannam (hell/purgatory) is not, however, dependent on whether good deeds outweigh bad deeds; but is ultimately up to God's mercy upon a believer. The Quran refers to them in two places, in 50:16-18 and by name as ‘Noble Recorders' in 82:10-12.[1]
The work of the kiraman katibin is to write down and record every action of a person each day. One angel figuratively sits on the right shoulder and records all good deeds, while the other sits on the left shoulder and records all bad deeds.
The book in which the angels are writing is the cumulative record of a given person's deeds. After that person's death, it is said that on the Day of Judgement each person will be confronted with this record, and the two angels will be present to tell God of what the person did.
In Islamic eschatology, Yawm al-Qiyāmah (Arabic: يوم القيامة‎ "the Day of Resurrection") or Yawm ad-Din (Arabic: يوم الدين‎ "the Day of Judgement") is believed to be God's final assessment of humanity. It is called several names throughout the Quran, such as the Day of Reckoning, the Last Day, and the Hour (al-sā'ah). The sequence of events (according to the most commonly held belief) is the annihilation of all creatures, resurrection of the body, and the judgement of all sentient beings. It is a time where everyone would be shown their deeds and actions with justice.

Sister, take this as a lesson from Allah from which you can learn and become better inshAllah. This is one of the wisdoms as to why Islam has forbidden us relationships outside of marriage, so that the man doesn't simply just use the woman and then toss her aside but has to own up to his responsibilities from the beginning before establishing a relationship with the girl. As far as this man is concerned, he himself was unjust and disobedient to Allah in being involved in that relationship and, yes, he will have to answer to Allah for enjoying a relationship with a woman without giving her her due rights. If he is unrepentant (which sounds like he is) then, if you repent to Allah for engaging in that relationship and make a firm commitment not to be with any man except within the secure institution of a purely Islamic marriage from the beginning, then inshallah, Allah ar-Rahim, will have mercy on you and that guy will be the one in very serious trouble, liable for Allah's Punishment.

If you seek to make yourself as much of a Muslimah as Allah Wants and seek Allah's mercy and forgiveness and have patience and Sabr with Allah's Decree, I am certain that Allah will replace this guy with a guy that is much better for you in this life and the next inshAllah and you will be thinking about this guy "What did I ever see in him :/?"

Take this as a lesson and inshallah I hope the heartbreak and pain you feel in your heart will be an expiation for you sins.
