What do you want to become, who do you want to be. Will you use it to serve Muslims? (OP)
Salam,
I think when we aim we musn't forget about what we are really living for.
We should start to think about our aims of life and how we will use them to benifit the Ummah, so that when we come to the Prophet(PBUH) he will not tell us what did you do for this Ummah, did you do anything to support it.
You might say I prayed I fasted. But praying and fasting is for you only.
What did you do for the Ummah
Salam,
I want to build my on my intelect, how I think.
And I want to be a historian, to tell people their history.
May Allah bless our good works where ever it may be(as long as its with pure intention, and for a good cause).
-What about You? (If anyone can, could you move this thread to the Ummah section
thats what I intended for this to be, as I saw one almost similar.)

Ya Muslimeen
Ya Mu’meneen
Open up your eyes
Aim for the ultimate prize
Which is paradise
Allah’s laws
By definition has no flaw
So why do we pause?
Tell me what’s the cause
Hold your applause
Takbir!!!!!
Allahu Akbar

I guess to fully study psychology you would be introduced to all kinds of thinking and psychological approaches to get a well-rounded understanding of the field.
Some of those may not necessarily be compatible with Islam - but I expect you would be required to learn them anyway (unless you can do Islam-specific training, but that wouldn't be at a mainstream university)
After your full training, I am sure you could specialise in an Islamic approach of psychology/ counselling.
I certainly know of counsellors who work with Christian teaching - I guess you have the same in Islam?
Peace glo
Here I stand.
I can do no other.
May God help me.
Amen.
Come, let us worship and bow down •
and kneel before the Lord our Maker
