When you first started Practising Islaam, what was the nasheed you listened to?

    Report bad ads?

When i started practising newly at the beginning, i remember quite alot of things.. like the way i felt, what stages in life i was going through.. and stuff.

Anyway the nasheeds had a big impact on me [the same way any song effects the way a person thinks.]

So what were the first nasheeds you listened to, and when you listen to them now - do they remind you of them times..?

I know that Ahmad Bukhatir's tracks, if i listen to them.. they usually get me thinking. His track Taweel As-Shawq reminded me of death alot, which encouraged me to be more practising.

    What about you?

Re: When you first started Practising Islaam, what was the nasheed you listened to?

The nasheed that really made me aware of my wrong doings would have to be Ahmed Bukhtair's Last Death..For awhile, after my dream which I have spoken about already ( http://www.islamicboard.com/general-...ractising.html ) would make me too scared to go to bed at night as the lyrics would be in my head.

    Here it is:
    http://english.islamway.com/flashpag...=550&hight=400

When you first started Practising Islaam, what was the nasheed you listened to?

*Al-Hasan al-Basri was once asked: "Why is it that we cannot uphold prayers at night?" He answered: "You are shackled in your own sins".*

Well i don't know if it's a nasheed but there is a title by Ahmed Bukhtair called ''ketab Allah''. I don't know how but that really touched, and the funny thing is that i don't even get arabic but there was something about it that was so overwhelming.

When you first started Practising Islaam, what was the nasheed you listened to?

Our preperation continued, with our efforts and the efforts of our brothers, for years and years. Through out that time we gathered, observed and waited until the moment to move arrived.

Masha'allah most of you tend to be a fan of bukhatir I really like his nasheeds, I cant get enough of Taweel as shawq nasheed. I LIKED listening to R&B's but after I changed I loved that one nasheed by Naseeha Peace Justice and Harmony so music wasnt my thing anymore.

Re: When you first started Practising Islaam, what was the nasheed you listened to?

Ah, there was a time when I didn't even know nasheeds existed, what they were.

Ahmed Bukhatir and Sami Yusuf, I remember listening to in the beginning. But this nasheed by Yusuf Islam I'll never forget, dedicated to the lost lives in Bosnia, brings still tears in my eyes:

    "The Little Ones"

oh they've killed all the little ones
    while their faces still smiled
with their guns and the fury
    they erased their young lives

    no longer to laugh
no longer to be a child
oh they killed all the little ones
    while their faces still smiled

now they’re burying the little ones
    and making the graves deep
    so the world cannot see
    that tonight, we may sleep

while they wash away the blood
    the mothers all weep
oh they're burying the little ones
and they’re making the graves deep
oh they're burying the little ones
    they’re making their graves deep

yes where will the devils go
    when that day comes
when the angels drag them out
    to face the little ones

oh they've killed all the little ones
    with their eyes open wide
there was nothing to help them
on the day that they died
When you first started Practising Islaam, what was the nasheed you listened to?

If only I had checked myself
