    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Humran, the freed slave of ‘Uthman b. ‘Affan, reported on the authority of ‘Uthman b. ‘Affan that he heard Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) say: He who performed ablution for prayer and performed it properly and then went (to observe) obligatory prayer and offered it along with people or with the congregation or in the mosque, Allah would pardon his sins. On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said:
Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says: Fasting is Mine and it is I who give reward for it. [A man] gives up his sexual passion, his food and his drink for my sake. Fasting is like a shield, and he who fasts has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. The change in the breath of the mouth of him who fasts is better in Allah’s estimation than the smell of musk. It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim, Malik, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah). (Hadith Qudsi 10)

Abbad b. Tamim Mazini heard his uncle, who was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), as saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) went out one day in order to pray for rain. He turned his back towards people, supplicated before Allah, facing towards Qibla, and turned his mantle round and then observed two rak’ahs of prayer. (Sahih Muslim Book 4, Hadith 1950)

The Prophet said,"Your actions alone will not save any of you."They asked, "Messenger of Allah, not even you?" He replied, "Not even me, unless Allah were to envelop me in His Mercy. Be fire, steadfast and balanced, and journey to Allah in the beginning of the day, the end of day and a portion of the latter part of the night. Moderation, moderation! Through this will you attain your goal!" (Bukhari)

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: Pride is my cloak and greatness My robe, and he who competes with Me in respect of either of them I shall cast into Hell-fire. It was related by Abu Dawud (also by Ibn Majah and Ahmad) with sound chains of authority. This Hadith also appears in Muslim in another version. (Hadith Qudsi 19)
