    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Juwairiyah bint Al-Harith (May Allah be pleased with her), the Mother of the Believers, reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) came out from my apartment in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Are you still in the same position as I left you." I replied in the affirmative. Thereupon the Prophet said, "I recited four words three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier. These are: Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, `adada khalqihi, wa rida nafsihi, wa zinatah `arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi [Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the weight of His Throne and equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise)]."

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

    بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم

Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said in a very beautiful Hadeeth:

أحبب حبيبك هوناً ما ، عسى أن يكون بغيضك يوماً ما ، وأبغض بغيضك هونا ما ، عسى أن يكون حبيبك يوماً ما

Ahbib Habeebaka Hownam Maa; `Asaa Ay Yakoona Bagheedhaka Yowmam Maa. Wa Abghidh Bagheedhaka Hownam Maa; `Asaa Ay Yakoona Habeebaka Yowmam Maa...

"Love your friend to a degree; he may become your enemy one day. Hate your enemy to a degree; he may become your friend one day." [Narrated in Sunan at-Tirmidhee.]

Explaining this Hadeeth, the `Ulamaa have said that Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم is teaching us not to go overboard when loving or hating a person. What happens sometimes is that you may love a person very much and be very close to this person. As a result, you tell this person all of your secrets and everything about yourself; things which could be used to harm you. Sometime down the line, you and this person have a fallout and now become enemies. This person is now sitting with all of that information which you had given him/her, and can now use it against you, to try and destroy your life. As a result, you will have a lot of regret.

Similarly, if you have an enemy whom you hate, don't go overboard in hating that person. Keep the hatred of that enemy (regardless of what they may have done to you which caused this hatred) to a degree; that very same person may become your friend down the line, and you will then feel bad on account of the extreme hatred you had shown to that person and whatever actions you may have taken against him/her as a result.

The Hadeeth teaches us to have moderation in everything. In eating, in drinking, in sleeping, in mixing with people. Even in loving and hating. This Hadeeth does not mean that you must not love people; of course, as human beings we all have those whom we love. The Hadeeth is saying you should adopt moderation and keep a sensible mind. Never go overboard.

There is only one being whom we can go overboard in love for, and that is Allaah Sub-haanahu wa Ta`aalaa.

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

    Narrated `Aisha:
(the wife of the Prophet) A lady along with her two daughters came to me asking me (for some alms), but she found nothing with me except one date which I gave to her and she divided it between her two daughters, and then she got up and went away. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) came in and I informed him about this story. He said, "Whoever is in charge of (put to test by) these daughters and treats them generously, then they will act as a shield for him from the (Hell) Fire."

Everybody started thinking about the trees of the desert areas. And I thought of the date-palm tree. The others then asked, "Please inform us what is that tree, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?" Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

People were (sometimes) judged by the revealing of a Divine Inspiration
during the lifetime of Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) but
now there are no longer any new revelations. Now we judge you by the deeds
you practice publicly, so we will trust and favor the one who does good
deeds in front of us, and we will not call him to account about what he is
really doing in secret, for Allah will judge him for that; but we will not
trust or believe the one who presents to us with an evil deed even if he
claims that his intentions were good.

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

    Narrated Anas (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

A funeral procession passed in front of the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa
Sallam) and the people praised the deceased.

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "It has been affirmed (Paradise)." Then another funeral procession passed by and the people talked badly of the deceased.

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "It has been affirmed
    (Hell)."

Allah's Apostle was asked, "O Allah's Apostle! You said it has been affirmed for both?"

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "The testimony of the people (is accepted), (for) the believers are Allah's
    witnesses on the earth."

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

It was narrated from Ibn Musayyab that ‘Aishah said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
There is no day on which Allah ransoms more slaves from the Fire than the Day of ‘Arafah. He draws closer and closer, then He boasts about them before the angels and says: ‘What do these people want?

[Sunan Ibn Majah Grade : Sahih (Darussalam)]
    Hadeeth of the day

    Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There are two expressions which are very easy for the tongue to say, but they are very heavy in the balance and are very dear to The Beneficent (Allah), and they are, 'Subhan Allah Al- `Azim and 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi.'"

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

    11th Dhul Hijjah 1437 (12th September 2016)

    Narrated Abu Al-Aswad (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

Once I went to Medina where there was an outbreak of disease and the people
were dying rapidly. I was sitting with 'Umar and a funeral procession
passed by. The people praised the deceased. 'Umar said, "It has been
    affirmed" (Paradise).

Then another funeral procession passed by. The people
praised the deceased. 'Umar said, "It has been affirmed." (Paradise). Then
another funeral procession passed by. The people praised the deceased.
'Umar said, "It has been affirmed (Paradise)." Then a third funeral
procession passed by and the people talked badly of the deceased. 'Umar
said, "It has been affirmed (Hell)."

I asked Umar, "O chief of the believers! What has been affirmed?"

He said, "I have said what the Prophet
(Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said. He said, 'Allah will admit into
paradise any Muslim whose good character is attested by four persons.'

We asked the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam), 'If there were three
witnesses only?' He said, 'Even three.'

We asked, 'If there were two only?' He said, 'Even two.' But we did not ask him about one witness."
