    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Sayyiduna Abu Wahab Al-Jushami (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:‘Keep the names of the Ambiya. The most beloved of names to Allah Ta’ala are: ‘Abdullah and ‘Abdur Rahman. The most truthful names are: Harith and Hammam, whilst the worst are: Harb and Murrah.’(Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 4911, Al-Adabul Mufrad of Bukhari, Hadith: 837)

Ibnul Adra’ says: One night I was in the company of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) when we walked past a man who was reciting Quran aloud [without shouting] in Salah. I said , “O Messenger of Allah! Maybe he did it ostentatiously?” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) replied ,” Never! he is turning towards Allah” Ibnul ‘Adra’ says, ‘I looked at this person and he was ‘Abdullah Dhul Bijadayn. Sayyiduna Ka’b ibn ‘Ujrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says, “A man once passed by Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). When the Sahabah saw his strength and energy, they said, ‘If only he was out [fighting] in the path of Allah’. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘If he is out earning a livelihood [to spend on his] children, then he is in the path of Allah, and if he is out striving to earn a livelihood [to spend on his] old parents, then he is in the path of Allah. If he is striving to earn a livelihood for himself, so that he can abstain from begging then too he is in the path of Allah. However, if he is striving to earn a livelihood to boast and be proud and arrogant then he is the path of Shaytan”(Tabarani in Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 19, volume: 19)
