    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: "I went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and heard a man reciting Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad [Allahus-Samad] so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'It is obligatory.' I said: 'What is obligatory?' He said: 'Paradise.'"

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (peace be upon him) once offered the prayer and said, "Satan came in front of me and tried to interrupt my prayer, but Allah gave me an upper hand on him and I choked him. No doubt, I thought of tying him to one of the pillars of the mosque till you get up in the morning and see him. Then I remembered the statement of Prophet Solomon, 'My Lord ! Bestow on me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me.' Then Allah made him (Satan) return with his head down (humiliated)."

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

When the Prophet saw something he disliked, he would say:

    الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ

All praise is due to Allah in every circumstance.

Source: Sunan Ibn Majah 3803, Grade:-Sahih

Ash-Sha’bi reported: Shuraih, may Allah be pleased with him, said:

Verily, if I am afflicted with a calamity, then I praise Allah four times. I praise him that it was not worse than it was. I praise him when he provides me patience to bear it. I praise him when he guides me to supplicate appropriately and hoping for reward, and I praise him for not making it a calamity in my religion.

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

    Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says,

“I was once with Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), Abu Bakr and other Sahabah were with as well. We passed by ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud who was performing Salah. Upon inquiring, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was informed that the person performing Salah was ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then said, ‘Abdullah [ibn Mas’ud] recited Quran just as it was revealed.

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud [unaware that he was being watched] then praised Allah in the best manner and made a beautiful du’a unto Allah. Then he said,

‘Allahumma inni as-aluka imanan la yartad wa na’iman la yanfad wa murafaqata Muhammadin (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) fi a’ala ‘illiyyin fi Jannatika jinanal khuld’

When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) heard him praising Allah and heard him make this du’a, he said twice, ‘ask and you shall be granted’.

Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) then went to convey the glad tidings, but learnt that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr had already conveyed the glad tidings to ‘Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud. Sayyiduna ‘Ali says, [Abu Bakr] was a forerunner of all good”

Narrated 'Aishah: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) finished his prayer late in the night, he would see. If I was awake, he would talk to me. If I was sleeping, he would awaken me, and pray two rak'ahs, then he would lie down as long as the mu'adhdhin came to him and call him for the dawn prayer. Then he would pray two rak'ahs lightly and come out for prayer.

Once Aishah (radiyallahu’anha) requested that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) make du’a for her. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) suplicated:

“O Allah! forgive all Aishah’s sins; the past and future and what was done in secrecy or in public.”

Aishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) became extremely happy. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said: “This is my du’a for my ummah in every salah.”

This is recorded in Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 7111 and Musnad Bazzar.
‘Allamah Haithami (rahimahullah) says: “The narrators are reliable.” (Majma’uz Zawaid (9/243-244)

Whenever he passed by a graveyard, Sayyiduna ‘Uthman (radiyallahu ‘anhu) always wept so bitterly that his beard would get wet.
Someone asked, “Why is it that you do not weep as much when mention is made of Jannah and Jahannam?” He replied, “I have heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say, “The grave is the first of the many stages of the Hereafter. Whoever fails to succeed in the grave will find the stages thereafter to be even more difficult.”

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said to ‘Sayyiduna ‘Umar:

“Shaytan does not see you taking walking on a certain path except that he takes a different path”

Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith as part of a lengthier Hadith, on the authority of Sayyiduna Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The narration is therefore authentic.

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3683 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2396)
