    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

It was narrated from Ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“If my Companions [Sahabah] are mentioned, then keep quiet, if the stars are mentioned [horoscopes/fortune telling], then keep quiet and if the divine decree [taqdir] is mentioned, then keep quiet.”

Imam Tabarani, Imam Abu Nu’aym and others have recorded this Hadith. Hafiz ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith of Tabarani as sound (hasan)

Narrated Ibn `Umar: I heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) saying, "When you see the crescent (of the month of Ramadan), start fasting, and when you see the crescent (of the month of Shawwal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you can't see it) then regard the month of Ramadan as of 30 days."

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

Narrated by Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Anybody who believes
in Allah and the Last Day should not harm his neighbour, and anybody who
believes in Allah and the Last Day should entertain his guest generously

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

Sayyiduna Jabir (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that whenever Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) passed by a road, someone searching for him would be able to trail him by the fragrance that lingered in the air after him. This was the natural fragrance his body exuded without him applying perfume.

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

It is reported that Ibn ‘Umar – Allâh be pleased with him – said, “We were the beginning [the heads] of this Ummah, and perhaps a man from the best of the Companions of Allâh’s Messenger – Allâh’s peace and blessings be upon him – and the most righteous amongst them could maintain only one chapter of the Qur`ân or thereabouts. For the Qur`ân was weighty upon them, and they were given knowledge of it or action based on it. But the last of this Ummah will find the Qur`ân light [and easy] – the child and the non-Arab will recite it, without possessing any knowledge about it.”

Mutarrif, from the tribe of Banu ‘Amir bin Sa’sa’ah narrated that ‘Uthman bin Abul-‘As Ath-Thaqafi invited him to drink some milk that he poured for him. Mutarrif said: “I am fasting.” ‘Uthman said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: ‘Fasting is a shield against the Fire just like the shield of anyone of you against fighting.’”

It was narrated from 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Utabah that 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas used to say: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he was most generous in Ramadan when Jibril met him. Jibril use to meet him every night during the month of Ramadan and study Quran with him." Re: Hadeeth of the day

Narrated 'Aisha: Whenever the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times.
