    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

    Narrated Ibn Abbas (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) once passed by two graves, and
those two persons (in the graves) were being tortured. He said, "They are
being tortured not for a great thing (to avoid). One of them never saved
himself from being soiled with his urine, while the other was going about
with calumnies (to make enmity between friends). He then took a green leaf
of a date-palm tree split it into two pieces and fixed one on each grave.
The people said, "O Allah's Apostle! Why have you done so?" He replied, "I
hope that their punishment may be lessened till they (the leaf) become
    dry."

Prophet ﷺ said, "The gates of Paradise are opened on Mondays and Thursdays, and forgiveness is granted to every man who does not associate anything with Allah, except for a man between whom and his brother there is rancor. Command will be given that they should be given respite till they conciliate." - Abu Dawood 42/4898

Sayyiduna Saib ibn Yazid (radiyallahu’anhu) states: ‘ I read Jumu’ah salah with Sayyiduna Mu’awiyah (radiyallahu’anhu). After the Fard, I stood in the same spot and offered [the nafl/sunnah] salah. When I finished, Sayyiduna Mu’awiyah (radiyallahu’anhu) sent for me and told me: ‘Do not do this again. When you complete your Jumu’ah [fard] salah, do not join another salah after it without either speaking [or reciting something] or by moving away. This is what Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) instructed us to do.’

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

    14th Jumada al-Thani 1439 (2nd March 2018)

Narrated Thabit bin Ad-Dahhak (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Whoever intentionally swears falsely by a religion other than Islam, then he is what he has said,(e.g. if he says, 'If such thing is not true then I am a Jew,' he is really a Jew). And whoever commits suicide with piece of iron will be punished with the same piece of iron in the Hell Fire."

Narrated Jundab the Prophet(Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "A man was inflicted with wounds and he committed suicide, and so Allah said: My slave has caused death onhimself hurriedly, so I forbid Paradise for him."

A man once enquired from Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) as to what rights do his parents have on him after their demise. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) replied:

    1.To make du’a for them.
2.To seek forgiveness on their behalf.
3.To execute their orders and bequests.
4.To maintain ties with those relatives of yours who are linked to you via them.
5.To pay respect to their surviving friends.

Anas reported Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) as saying: When one of you makes supplication, he should supplicate with a will and should not say: O Allah, confer upon me if Thou likest, for there is none to coerce Allah.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) as saying: When one of you makes a supplication (to his Lord) one should not say: O Allah, grant me pardon, if Thou so likest, but one should beg one's (Lord) with a will and full devotion, for there is nothing so great in the eye of Allah which He cannot grant.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) as saying: None of you should say to Allah (like this): O Allah, grant me mercy, if thou so likest. The supplication (of his) should (be permeated with) conviction (that it would be accepted by the Lord), for Allah is the Doer of (everything) He likes to do, and there is none to force Him (to do or not to do this or that).

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The one most deserving of envy according to me is the one who has the least burden, who offers a [great deal] of Salah [and finds solace in Salah], worshipping his Rabb well, and obeys him[even] in private. He is unknown among the people [and is not paid any heed]. His provisions are only what is sufficient and he is patient/content with that.” Then he tapped with his fingers and said: “His death comes quickly, his mourners are few, and his inheritance is little.”

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The example of a good companion and a bad companion is that of someone who is selling musk and the bellows of the blacksmith. The person selling musk will either give you musk, or you will purchase it from him or at least get a pleasant odour while the bellows of the blacksmith either burn your clothes or you will get an unpleasant odour”

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

“When Allah intends goodness for a people, He appoints over them their most tolerant ones; their Ulama decide their disputes, and He bestows wealth to their generous ones. And, when Allah Ta’ala intends ruin for a people, he appoints their foolish to rule them; their ignoramuses to decide their disputes, and He bestows wealth to their misers.”

Imam Daylami (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration. ‘Allamah Munawi (rahimahullah) has declared the chain reliable (jayyid).

(Musnadul Firdaws, Hadith: 954, ‘ilmiyyah edition, Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 391)

Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abid Dunya (rahimahullah) has recorded slightly shorter version. ‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahullah) has also referenced this shorter version to Al Marasil of Imam Abu Dawud.

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

ثلاث لا يغل عليهن قلب مسلم: إخلاص العمل لله، والنصح لأئمة المسلمين، ولزوم جماعتهم

These particular words appear at the end of a well-known Hadith. The entire Hadith is as follows:
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said; “Allah Ta’ala looks kindly upon that person who hears something that I have said, memorises it, and then conveys it to someone else. There is many a bearer of knowledge who passes that knowledge on to someone who understands it better than him, and there is many a bearer of knowledge who possesses no understanding. Enmity/animosity will never enter a believer’s heart as long as that heart contains three things; sincerity of action, well-wishing for the Muslim Leaders and sticking to [the way of] the majority Muslims…
    (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3056)

    Explanation

    1. Maintaining these three qualities in one’s heart guarantees that one’s actions will always be in the best interest of the ummah and that these actions will be done solely for the pleasure of Allah, by virtue of the heart being free from animosity.

    2. It could also be understood as an exhortation for every Muslim to ensure that he/she acquires these qualities.
(Injahul Hajah with Sunan Ibn Majah pg.219. Also see An-Nihayah, vol.2 pg. 317 and Mirqat, Hadith: 228)

This manifests in the complete absence of enmity and animosity. If all goes well, the Believer is pleased and expectant of reward. If there is a problem, or things do not go according to plan, these three qualities in their essence will discourage the Believer from incessant complaint and the harbouring of ill-feelings. It will actually encourage actions that will rectify the situation peacefully and graciously.

    Reference and authentication

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

قال عمار: ثلاث من جمعهن فقد جمع الإيمان: الإنصاف من نفسك، وبذل السلام للعالم، والإنفاق من الإقتار

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has cited this as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Ammar ibn Yasir (radiyallahu ‘anhu)-ta’liqan-(without a chain. The full chain is located in Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq)

(Sahih Bukhari, before Hadith: 28, Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq, Hadith: 19439)

Imam Bazzar and Imam Tabarani (rahimahumallah) have also recorded a similar narration as a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

(Musnad Bazzar; Kashful Astar, Hadith: 30. Refer: Fathul Bari, Hadith: 28 and Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 1 pg. 56 and 57)

    Translation

Whoever possesses three characteristics possesses all of Iman; Justice, spreading salam to all people and spending [in charity and avenues of good] even when he is poor.”

It was narrated from Salamah bin ‘Ubaidullah bin Mihsan Al-Ansari (RA) that his father said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘Whoever among you wakes up physically healthy, feeling safe and secure within himself, with food for the day, it is as if he acquired the whole world.’”

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alaihi wasallam) used to recite the following supplication in abundance:

‘Ya Muqallibal qulub, thabbit qalbi ‘ala deenik.’

    (Sunan Tirmidhi, hadith: 2140)

    Translation:

O Turner of hearts, keep my heart steadfast on your deen.
