    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas (RA): The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the most generous amongst the people, and he used to be more so in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel (AS) visited him, and Gabriel (AS) used to meet him on every night of Ramadan till the end of the month. The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to recite the Holy Qur'an to Gabriel (AS), and when Gabriel (AS) met him, he used to be more generous than a fast wind (which causes rain and welfare).

Zirr bin Hubaish [and Zirr bin Hubaish’s Kunyah is Abu Mariam] (RA) said: “I said to Ubayy bin Ka’b (RA): ‘Your brother Abdullah bin Mas’ud (RA) says: “Whoever stands (in voluntary prayer) the whole year, then he will have reached the Night of Al-Qadr.’” So he said: ‘May Allah forgive Abu Abdur-Rahman (RA). He knows that is during the last ten (nights) of Ramadan, and that it is the night of the twenty-seventh. But he wanted the people to not rely upon that.’ Then he uttered an oath, that without exception it is on the night of the twenty-seventh.” He said: “I said to him: ‘Why is it that you say that O Abu Al-Mindhir (RA)?’ He (RA) said: “By the sign or indication which the Messenger of Allah (SAW) informed us of: ‘That the sun rises on that day having no beams with it."

It was narrated from An-Nu'man bin Bashir (RA) that: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to recite on the two 'Eids and on Friday: "Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High" and "Has there come to you the narration of The Overwhelming?" Sometimes the two ('Eid and Jumu'ah) occurred on the same day, and he would recite them (these two Surahs).
