    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

Narrated Anas bin Malik (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

Once Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) led us in prayer and
then (after finishing it) ascended the pulpit and pointed with his hand
towards the Qibla of the mosque and said, "While I was leading you in
prayer, both Paradise and Hell were displayed in front of me in the
direction of this wall. I had never seen a better thing (than Paradise) and
a worse thing (than Hell) as I have seen today, I had never seen a better
thing and a worse thing as I have seen today."

Abu Huraira RA reported that a person said: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him), who amongst the people is most deserving of my good treatment? He said: Your mother, again your mother, again your mother, then your father, then your nearest relatives according to the order (of nearness).

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is reported to have said: “When one of you sees his brother or his brother’s wealth and is amazed by it, then he should say‘Barakallah’,for verily the evil eye is true.

(Mustadrak Hakim vol. 4 pg. 215 and Ibnus Sunni, Hadith: 205)

Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has classified the above narration as authentic. Hafiz Dhahabi (rahimahullah) concurs.

Hizam ibn Hakim ibn Hizam (rahimahullah) reports: When Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) feared that his glance may affect someone, he would read

“Allahumma barik fihi wa la tadurrahu”

Translation: Allah! Bless him and don’t harm him
    (Ibnus Sunni, Hadith: 208)

Al-Mufassir, Hafiz ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) writes: Some of the salaf (pious predecessors) said: When one is amazed at his condition, wealth or children he should recite:

Masha Allah la Quwwata illa billah
Ibn Kathir adds: ‘This is derived from this verse.’ (i.e, in Surah Kahf, verse: 39). This du’a has also been reported in a Hadith.

    924. Usamah bin Zaid (ﷺ) reported: A daughter of the Prophet (ﷺ) sent a message to him that her son was at his last breath, and requested him to come to her. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent back the informer saying: "To Allah belongs what He takes and what He gives, and everything has a limited period (in this world). So ask her to endure patiently, and expect the reward of Allah.''

Aishah narrated: "Whenever one of the wives of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) became (feverishly) ill, he would order that some broth be prepared. Then he would tell them to take some of the broth. And he would say: 'It firms the heart of the grieved, and it rids the worries from the heart of the ill just as one of you removes dirt from her face with water."

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "I was ordered to migrate to a town which will swallow (conquer) other towns and is called Yathrib and that is Medina, and it turns out (bad) persons as a furnace removes the impurities of iron.
