    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Narrated Ibn `Umar (RA): Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise and the people of the Fire have entered the Fire, death will be brought and will be placed between the Fire and Paradise, and then it will be slaughtered, and a call will be made (that), 'O people of Paradise, no more death! O people of the Fire, no more death! 'So the people of Paradise will have happiness added to their previous happiness, and the people of the Fire will have sorrow added to their previous sorrow."

Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The one who treads a path seeking the knowledge of Din, Allah Ta’ala will make his path to Jannah easy. The Angels spread out their wings under the feet of the one seeking the knowledge of Din in expression of happiness for the path he has adopted. All the creation in the heavens and the earth, even the fish in the ocean seek forgiveness on behalf of one seeking knowledge. The virtue of an ‘Alim over a worshipper is like the superiority of the moon over all the other stars. And certainly the ‘Ulama are the heirs of the Ambiya. The Ambiya did not leave behind gold and silver coins rather they left behind Knowledge. Whoever has acquired it, really he has acquired a great share”

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) once entered an Ansari’s orchard. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ate a few fresh dates while walking. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then turned to Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) and said, ‘O Ibn ‘Abbas! Do not eat with two fingers for this is how Shaytan eats, eat with three fingers.’

    (Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 11251)

‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) was of the opinion that the Hadith is suitable.

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was once informed of a person’s ‘ibadah and striving for the cause of Din. He asked, ‘[How often] would he remember death.’ They replied, ‘We never heard him discuss death.’ Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, ‘In that case, he is not of a very high level.’

Hazrat Abu Darda (R.A.) narrates that the Prophet (saw) said: Whosoever offers 2 rakats of salatud duha (chasht) cannot be counted among the indolent. One who offers 4 rakats is among the devotees. Those who offer 6 rakats at chasht are made immune from all the worries for the whole day. Those who offer 8 rakats are recorded among the pious. One offering 12 rakats has his house built in Jannat.(Refer: Fathul Bari, hadith: 1176. Also see Majma’uz Zawaid, vol.2 pg.237 & Targhib, vol.1 pg.466)

It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) prohibited from the earnings of the copulation of animals. (That is, the earnings achieved when one hires his male animal to copulate with a female animal)

When Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) questioned someone regarding their name and the name was a good name, the [happiness] would be visible on Nabi’s (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) face. If the name was not [a good name] he would dislike it. When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would go to a town he would enquire regarding its name. If the name was good, he would become happy and if it [was not good] the [displeasure] would be seen on his face.

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to me: 'Recite, O Jabir!' I said: 'What should I recite, may my father and mother be ransomed for you, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: Recite: 'Say: I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of the daybreak...,' and: 'Say: I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of mankind...' So I recited them, and he said: 'Recite them, for you will never recite anything like them.'"
