    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ’anhu) reports that it was the noble practice of our beloved Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) after every Fard Salah to place his right hand on his forehead (and in some narrations: on his head) and recite the following supplication:

    بِسْمِ اللهِ الذِيْ لا إلٰهَ إِلا هُوَ الرحْمٰنُ الرحِيم ، اللهُم أَذْهِبْ عَني الْهَم وَالحُزْن

    Bismillahillazhy la ilaha illa huwa-Rahmanu-Rahim. Allahumma Azh-hib ‘annil-hamma wal-huzn.

    Translation:

In the name of Allah, besides whom there is none worthy of worship, The most Gracious, The most Merciful.
O Allah! Remove from me worry and depression.

This narration is suitable for practice and has been recorded by the following authorities:

Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) is reported to have said, ‘He who gives cloth to any destitute Muslim, remains in the security of Allah as long as a single piece remains on his body.’

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) use to seek Allah Ta’ala’s protection for Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Husayn (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) with the following words:

اعيذكما بكلمات الله التامة من كل شيطان و هامة و من كل عين لامة

U’izukuma bi kalimatillahit taammah min kulli shaytaniw wa haammah wa min kulli ‘aynil laammah

I seek refuge with the perfect words of Allah from every devil and poisonous creature and from every evil eye.

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) told Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Husayn (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) that your fore father (Nabi Ibrahim ‘alayhis salam) use to also seek Allah’s protection with these words for Sayyiduna Isma’il and Sayyiduna Ishaq (‘alayhimas salam)

    (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3371)

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

When Sayyiduna Talhah ibn Al Bara (radiyallahu ‘anhu) met Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), he said,’ O Rasulullah! Order me to do anything, I will never disobey.’ Since he was a youngster, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was amazed at his statement and said, ‘Go and kill your father.’ He turned around to go when Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) called him and said,‘Come back for I have not been sent to sever ties.’

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 3554, Al Mu’jamul Awsat, Hadith: 8164 and As Sunanul Kubra, vol. 9 pg. 27. Also see: Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 9 pg. 318)

‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the chain of Imam Tabarani sound (hasan).

    (Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 3 pg. 37)

One version suggests that this occurred when he came to accept Islam.

    (Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 8163)
This illustrious Sahabi had become ill during winter. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would visit him braving the cold. One night, just before he could leave this world, he instructed his family not to inform Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) of his death, as he was afraid that some animal would harm him or the Jews would attack him, when Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would come out to attend the funeral.

The next morning, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) stood by his grave, lifted his hands and said, ‘O Allah! Meet Talhah in the condition that you are pleased with him/smiling at him and he is pleased with you’

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 3554, Al Isabah, vol. 5 pg. 411 under the biography of Talhah ibn Al Bara radiyallahu ‘anhu and Fathul Bari, Hadith: 1247)

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) never failed to utter these supplications in the evening and in the morning: O Allah, I ask Thee for security in this world and in the Hereafter: O Allah! I ask Thee for forgiveness and security in my religion and my worldly affairs, in my family and my property; O Allah! conceal my fault or faults (according to Uthman's version), and keep me safe from the things which I fear; O Allah! guard me in front of me and behind me, on my right hand and on my left, and from above me: and I seek in Thy greatness from receiving unexpected harm from below me." AbuDawud said: Waki' said: That is to say, swallowing by the earth.

It is narrated that Rasoolallah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) ordered water to be sprayed on the grave of Sa’d ra. [

Ibn Majah, Volume 2, Hadith no: 1551],

Rasoolallah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) also sprayed water on the grave of his son, Ibrahim. [Mishkat, p.148]

The companions sprayed water on the blessed grave of Rasoolallah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) [Mishkat, p.149]

Imam Ali Qari writes that ‘Allama Tayyibi said “spraying water on the grave is an indication towards the mercy of Allah”

"Invite the people to testify that none has the right to be worshipped but
Allah and I am Allah's Apostle, and if they obey you to do so, then teach
them that Allah has enjoined on them five prayers in every day and night
(in twenty-four hours), and if they obey you to do so, then teach them that
Allah has made it obligatory for them to pay the Zakat from their property

“When a man falls in to debt, he speaks lies and breaches his promises.”

    (Sahih Bukhari, hadith: 832& 2397)

The words of that du’a are:
Allahumma innee a’oodhu bika minal ma-thami wal maghram

    اللّٰهُمَّ إني أعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ المأْثَمِ وَالمَغْرَم

O Allah! I seek your protection from sin and debts.

Note: If one cannot recite this before the salam, one could recite it after the salam with the hope that Allah Ta’ala accepts it.

    2) Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) taught the following du’a to Sayyiduna Mu’ad ibn Jabal (radiyallahu’anhu) for removal of debts:

Allahumma Malikal Mulk, Tu-til Mulka man tasha-u watanzi’ul Mulka mimman tasha-u, wa tu’izzu man tasha-u, watudhillu mahtasha-u, biyadikal khairu innaka ‘ala kulli shai-in Qadeer.
Rahmanad Dunya wal Akhirati tu’tihima man tasha-u wa tamna’u minhuma man tasha-u irhamnee Rahmatan min ‘indik, tughni nee biha ‘an Rahmati man siwak

Translation : O Allah! possessor of the kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will, and You take the kingdom from whom You will, and You endow with honor whom You will. In Your Hand is all good. Verily, You are Able to do all things. You make the night to enter into the day, and You make the day to enter into the night (i.e. increase and decrease in the hours of the night and the day during winter and summer), You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give wealth and sustenance to whom You will, without limit (measure or account). O Most Merciful of this world and the Hereafter, You give from them whatever You wish and You deprive whomsoever You wish. Shower upon me such mercy, which will make me independent from the mercy of those besides You.’

Rasulullah (sallallahu’alaihi wasallam) said to Sayyiduna Mu’adh (radiyallahu’anhu):

“If you recite this du’a, your debts will be cleared even if they equal to mount Uhud.”

    (al-Mu’jam al-saghir; see Majma’uz Zawa’id vol.10 pg.186).
Hafiz al-Haythami (rahimahullah) has classified its narrators as reliable and ‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahullah) has declared the chain as good. (Majma’uz Zawa’id vol.10 pg.186 & Targheeb, vol.2 pg.614)

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

    23rd Jumada al-Thani 1439 (11th March 2018)

    Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "The Hour (Day of
Judgment) will not be established till your wealth increases so much so
that one will be worried, for no one will accept his Zakat and the person
to whom he will give it will reply, 'I am not in need of it.' "

Sayyiduna Mu’awiyah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that he heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say:

“O people, knowledge can only be acquired through seeking it, and the true understanding of Din can only be obtained through in-depth study [tutorship], and the one who Allah Ta’ala wishes good for, He grants him the true understanding of Din, and among the servants of Allah Ta’ala, it is only the ‘Ulama (those who possess the true knowledge) who fear Him.”
