    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

The Holy Messenger of Allah the Almighty ﺻﻠﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪﻭ ﺳﻠﻢ is quoted on the authority of Abu Huraira ﺭﺿﯽﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺗﻌﻠ ﯽ ﻋﻨﻪ to have said:

“Allah the Almighty says, ‘I am towards My servant as he is towards Me. I am with him when he remembers Me (dhikr). If he remembers Me within himself, I remember him within Myself. If he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a gathering better than it.’”

Abu Huraira (ra ) and Abu Saeed Khudri (ra ) narrate that they visited the Holy Prophet (s.a.w ) and he said, “Whenever people sit to remember Allah (SWT), angels cover them (spreading their wings over them) and divine mercy envelops them; inner peace descends on them and Allah (SWT) mentions them to those who are with Him.”

    The Prophet said s.a.w:

“Whoever is mainly concerned about the Hereafter, Allah swt will make him feel independent of others and will make him focused and content, and his worldly affairs will fall into place. But whoever is mainly concerned with this world, Allah swt will make him feel in constant need of others and will make him distracted and unfocused, and he will get nothing of this world except what is decreed for him.”

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

    Muslim narrated the following hadith:

Narrated ‘Aisha: Eleven women sat (at a place) and promised and contracted that they would not conceal anything concerning their husbands.

The first one said: “My husband is like the meat of a lean weak camel which is kept on the top of a mountain which is neither easy to climb, nor is the meat has fat, so that one might take up the trouble of fetching it.”

The second one said: “I shall not relate my husband’s news, for I fear that I may not be able to finish his story, for if I describe him, I will mention all his defects and bad traits.”

The third one said:”My husband is a tall man; if I describe him (and he hears of that) he will divorce me, and if I keep quiet, he will neither divorce me nor treat me as a wife.”

The fourth one said:”My husband is a moderate person like the night of Tihama which is neither hot nor cold. I am neither afraid of him, nor am I discontented with him.”

The fifth one said:”My husband, when entering (the house) is a leopard, and when going out, is a lion. He does not ask about whatever is in the house.”

The sixth one said:”If my husband eats. he eats too much (leaving the dishes empty), and if he drinks he leaves nothing, and if he sleeps he sleeps alone (away from me) covered in garments and does not stretch his hands here and there so as to know how I fare (get along).”

The seventh one said:”My husband is a wrong-doer or weak and foolish. All the defects are present in him. He may injure your head or your body or may do both.”

The eighth one said:”My husband is soft to touch like a rabbit and smells like a Zar’nab (a kind of good smelling grass).”

The ninth one said:”My husband is a tall generous man wearing a long strap for carrying his sword. His ashes are abundant and his house is near to the people who would easily consult him.”

The tenth one said: “My husband is Malik, and what is Malik? Malik is greater than whatever I say about him. (He is beyond and above all praises which can come to my mind). Most of his camels are kept at home (ready to be slaughtered for the guests) and only a few are taken to the pastures. When the camels hear the sound of the lute (or the tambourine) they realize that they are going to be slaughtered for the guests.”

The eleventh one said:”My husband is Abu Zar`ah and what is Abu Zar`ah (i.e., what should I say about him)? He has given me many ornaments and my ears are heavily loaded with them and my arms have become fat (i.e., I have become fat). He has pleased me, and I have become so happy that I feel proud of myself. He found me with my family who were mere owners of sheep and living in poverty, and brought me to a respected family having horses and camels and threshing and purifying grain. Whatever I say, he does not rebuke or insult me. When I sleep, I sleep till late in the morning, and when I drink water (or milk), I drink my fill. The mother of Abu Zar`ah and what may one say in praise of the mother of Abu Zar`ah? Her saddle bags are always full of provision and her house is spacious. As for the son of Abu Zar`ah, what may one say of the son of Abu Zar`ah? His bed is as narrow as an unsheathed sword and an arm of a kid (of four months) satisfies his hunger. As for the daughter of Abu Zar`ah, she is obedient to her father and to her mother. She has a fat well-built body and that arouses the jealousy of her husband’s other wife. As for the (maid) slave girl of Abu Zar`ah, what may one say of the (maid) slave girl of Abu Zar`ah? She does not uncover our secrets but keeps them, and does not waste our provisions and does not leave the rubbish scattered everywhere in our house.”

    The eleventh lady then added,

“One day it so happened that Abu Zar`ah went out at the time when the milk was being milked from the animals, and he saw a woman who had two sons like two leopards… (On seeing her) he divorced me and married her. Thereafter, I married a noble man who used to ride a fast tireless horse and keep a spear in his hand. He gave me many things, and also a pair of every kind of livestock and said, ‘Eat (of this), O Umm Zar`ah, and give provision to your relatives.” She added, “Yet, all those things which my second husband gave me could not fill the smallest utensil of Abu Zar`ah.”

‘Aisha then said: Allah’s Apostle s.a.w said to me, ‘I am to you as Abu Zar`ah was to his wife, Umm Zar`ah.’”

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

Narrated Hakim bin Hizam (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "The upper hand is better
than the lower hand (i.e. he who gives in charity is better than him who
takes it). One should start giving first to his dependents. And the best
object of charity is that which is given by a wealthy person (from the
money which is left after his expenses). And whoever abstains from asking
others for some financial help, Allah will give him and save him from
asking others, Allah will make him self-sufficient."

Amr bin Awf ra relates that Rasulullah s.a.w said :

"I do not fear poverty for you (the Ummah) but what I really fear is that the worldly wealth may be increased for you as it was increased for those before you. Hence you will compete with one another for the world just as those before you competed with one another for it. It will then destroy you just as it destroyed them"

Adī b. Hātim, embraced Islam, and is a well-known Companion. One day he asked the Prophet (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) about his father, praising him because he was a good man, and said, “O Messenger of Allah! My father was good to his relatives, and he would feed the poor, and he would do this, and do that…” and he went on listing the good deeds his father had done, “…so shall he be rewarded for any of that?” The Prophet (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) replied, “O `Adī, your father desired something [meaning: fame], and he achieved it”

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“There are four (will protest) on the Day of Qiyamah; A deaf man who never heard anything, [An insane man], a very old man, and the man who died during ‘fatrah’ [The interval between the time of ‘Isa (‘alayhis salam) and the time of Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

The deaf man will say, ‘O Rabb, Islam came but I never heard anything.’ The insane man will say, ‘O Rabb, Islam came but children would run after me and throw dung at me.’ The very old man will say, ‘O Rabb, Islam came but I did not understand anything.’ The man who died during ‘fatrah’ will say, ‘O Rabb, no Messenger came to me.’

He will accept their promises of obedience, then word will be sent to them to enter Jahannam. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, if they enter it, it will be cool and safe for them.

Sayyiduna Usamah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says, “Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) once gifted me a thick cotton garment [which was made in Egypt] which Sayyiduna Dihyah Al Kalbi (radiyallahu ‘anhu) had gifted him. I gifted it to my wife.
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then asked me, ‘Why aren’t you wearing the garment’? I replied, ‘O Rasulullah! I gave it to my wife to wear.’ Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) told me, ‘Order her to wear an undergarment as well [when wearing it] for I fear that the size of her bone structure be visible.

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

Abu Huraira (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) as saying: The similitude of mine and that of my Umma is that of a person who lit fire and there began to fall into it insects and moths. And I am there to hold you back, but you plunge into it.
