    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Hadhrat Abu Umaamah (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Hadhrat Luqmaan (Alayhis Salaam) once advised his son saying: “O my beloved son, ensure that you always remain in the company of the Ulama and listen attentively to the speech of the wise, for certainly Allah Ta’ala enlivens the dead heart with the light of wisdom, just as he gives life to the dead earth with a downpour of rain.”

Hazrat Abu Sa‘eed Khudri (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said:

Hazrat Musa (‘alaihis salaam) asked Allah Ta‘ala, “O my Lord! Teach me something by which I may remember you (make your zikr) and call unto you in supplication!” Allah Ta‘ala replied, “O Musa! Reciteلا إلاه إلا الله”On receiving this answer, Hazrat Musa (‘alaihis salaam) said, “O my Lord! All your servants recite this!” Allah Ta‘ala replied, “Reciteلا إلاه إلا الله”Hazrat Musa (‘alaihis salaam) said to Allah Ta‘ala, “There is no deity besides you, O my Lord! (However) I want something which is exclusive to myself.” Allah Ta‘ala replied, “O Musa! If the seven heavens and their inhabitants and the seven earths were placed into one pan of the scale andلا إلاه إلا اللهwas placed into the other pan, the pan which containedلا إلاه إلا اللهwould surely outweigh the other pan.”

It was narrated that Muhammad bin ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Bakr (RA) said: “I was sitting with Ibn ‘Abbas (RA), and a man came to him and he said: ‘Where have you come from?’ He said: ‘From Zamzam.’ He said: ‘Did you drink from it as you should?’ He said: ‘How is that?’ He said: ‘When you drink from it, turn to face the Qiblah and mention the name of Allah, drink three draughts and drink your fill of it. When you have finished, then praise Allah.’ The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘The sign (that differentiates) between us and the hypocrites is that they do not drink their fill from Zamzam.”

It was narrated from Khawlah bint Hakim (RA) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “If anyone of you, when he stops to camp (while on a journey), says A’udhu bi kalimatil-lahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq (I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of that which He has created), then nothing will harm him in that place until he moves on.”

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports, “Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once asked the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum), ‘Who will take these words from me and practice on them, as well as teach them to one who will then practice on them?’ I replied, ‘I will, O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)!’ Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) thus held my hand and counted five (advices). Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, ‘Fear (falling into) that which is prohibited, and you will be among the greatest of worshippers (as abstaining from haraam is a fardh act and a means of acquiring the pleasure of Allah Ta‘ala). Be pleased with that which Allah Ta‘ala has allotted for you (as your sustenance), and you will be the wealthiest of people. Show your neighbor excellent conduct, and you will be a true believer. Love for others what you love for yourself, and you will be a true muslim. Do not laugh excessively, as excessive laughter kills (the noor of) the heart.”

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

Hazrat Maalik bin Dinaar (Rahimahullah) reports from Hazrat Hasan Basri (Rahimahullah) that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whichever servant of Allah Ta’ala delivers a khutba (sermon) before people, Allah Ta’ala will question him regarding it.” The narrator says, “I think the meaning of this Hadith is that Allah Ta’ala will question him regarding his intention at the time of delivering the khutbah.”

Ja’far (Rahimahullah) relates that when Hazrat Maalik bin Dinaar (Rahimahullah) would relate this Hadith, he would cry so profusely until he was unable to speak, and he would then say: “Do you think that I feel pleased and easy to deliver a lecture before you? Whereas I know that Allah Ta’ala will question me on the day of Qiyaamah regarding my intention for delivering the discourse before you.”

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Remain steadfast [on whatever good is possible] for you will be unable to thoroughly carry out every single good deed [or, Remain steadfast for you are unable to count the reward of steadfastness]. Know that among the best of your deeds is Salah and that none maintains his wudu except a believer”

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 278, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 5 pg. 277. Refer: Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 994)
