    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah (RA), from his father that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "I stand in prayer, then I hear a child crying, so I make my prayer brief, because I do not want to cause hardship for his mother."

Hazrat Anas (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The one who shows a person the way to acquire good, he will receive the reward (of the good) just as the one who carries out the good receives reward. And Allah Ta’ala loves the one who assists people who are in hardship and difficulty.”

Narrated Ibn 'Umar (RA): that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Islam is based upon five: the testimony of La Ilaha Illallah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, the establishment of the Salat, giving the Zakat, fasting (the month of) Ramadan, and performing Hajj to the House."

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Umar (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

A person stood up and asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What clothes may be worn
    in the state of Ihram?"

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) replied,
"Do not wear a shirt or trousers, or any headgear (e.g. a turban), or a
hooded cloak; but if somebody has no shoes he can wear leather stockings
provided they are cut short off the ankles, and also, do not wear anything
perfumed with Wars or saffron, and the Muhrima (a woman in the state of
Ihram) should not cover her face, or wear gloves."

Abu Malik at-Ash'ari (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Cleanliness is half of faith and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fills the scale, and Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fill up what is between the heavens and the earth, and prayer is a light, and charity is proof (of one's faith) and endurance is a brightness and the Holy Qur'an is a proof on your behalf or against you. All men go out early in the morning and sell themselves, thereby setting themselves free or destroying themselves.

Sayyidatuna ‘Aishah (radiyallahu’anha) reported that Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) mentioned:

When the woman precedes the man in climax, the child resembles his maternal family. When the man precedes the woman, the child resembles his paternal side.

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 713. Also see Fathul Bari, Hadith: 3938 for other similar narrations)

Sayyiduna Thawban (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said -as part of a lengthy Hadith-

When the man and woman copulate, and the man’s semen dominates [is more than] the semen of the woman, the child is born a male, with Allah’s command. When the woman’s semen dominates the man’s, then the child is born a female, by the command of Allah.
