"There are times where it is necessary to abandon our humanity....to protect our humanity" In the newest Planet of the Apes sci-fi trilogy, a degenerative brain disease is spreading across the globe, and meanwhile a drug intended to cure the disease is tested on an ape, who becomes more intelligent, and uses the drug to evolve the other apes, leading to a war between humans and apes for dominance of the Planet. In the midst of this fighting, a ruthless Colonel rises to power, and says this in a speech in the trailer for the upcoming final movie.
"Fear, is the path to the Dark Side....Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate....hate, leads to suffering...." said by Jedi Master Yoda in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, when a young Anakin is presented before the Jedi council, and the Jedi can sense he fears for his mother, who is still a slave. He ends up becoming evil and helping to exterminate the Jedi, and even kills his wife out of rage, when she was the very person who brought him into misguidance by Chancellor Palpatine (Jedi are expected to be celibate, and he married her in secret, and had visions that she was taken from him). This is all in the prequels, and in the original trilogy, he suffers.
