The attitude of the scientific mind that favors philosophy and religion often makes it as famous quotations and not a part of scientific journalism (which is more concerned with data and clinical trials) although certainly on occasion in NEJM I have come across personal convictions and idiosyncrasies of certain physicians -- it isn't uncommon.. you'll need a subscription to be amused every now and then though, not dawking.net or wikipedia!
