They merely:
Veiled themselves and didn't flaunt it
Sought forgiveness and didn't persist
Took ownership of it and don't justify it
And acted with excellence after they had erred - Ibn al-Qayyim
Re: The God Within documentary - exposing the false philosophy of modern science
Adams makes some good points at the start about conciousness and modern physics, but after that it's all downhill. He is far too quick to associate Hawking's far from original opinion on one issue (an issue that has been argued about since ancient times, incidently) with that of 'conventional physicists' in general. Worse, his comments on conciousness and free will/determinism show him to be almost totally ignorant of what are very long-standing philosophical debates. The association of the 'free will' position with philosophy and 'determinism' with physics is nonsense; you can find plenty of both philosophers and physicists on both sides of the debate... and these days the materialistic/deterministic position is the dominant, if far from undisputed, one in academic philosophy. Even if you accept a materialist/determinist view for sake of argument (which is the only way I would accept it), there are plenty of arguments against consequences such as those Adams suggests, again to be found in philosophy and not physics papers! And the idea of governments latching onto a sentence or two from Hawking as some sort of license for genocide is just bizarre.
