    Report bad ads?

    I was talking to a friend who said she had heard that Milk, Honey and Black Sesamee seed oil have been advocated in Islam to cure certain ailments - is this true? and if so what ailments can they help - i personally had not heard that (although milk and honey are seen as good souces of nutrients - but i think she was talking more than that).

    Does anyone know of other foods especially mentioned in Islam?

    (this is something that i probably would have previously gone "huh - i didnt know that - really?" and left it at that but since ive joined this forum thought hey might as well ask and see if there is either some basis behind what she said or whether its an ol' wives tale!!)

    Re: Islamic SuperFoods

    Some Hadiths,

    Bukhari :: Book 7 :: Volume 71 :: Hadith 588
    Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:

    A man came to the Prophet and said, "My brother has some abdominal trouble." The Prophet said to him "Let him drink honey." The man came for the second time and the Prophet said to him, 'Let him drink honey." He came for the third time and the Prophet said, "Let him drink honey." He returned again and said, "I have done that ' The Prophet then said, "Allah has said the truth, but your brother's abdomen has told a lie. Let him drink honey." So he made him drink honey and he was cured.
    Bukhari :: Book 7 :: Volume 71 :: Hadith 584
    Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

    (The Prophet said), "Healing is in three things: A gulp of honey, cupping, and branding with fire (cauterizing)." But I forbid my followers to use (cauterization) branding with fire."
    Muslim :: Book 23 : Hadith 5091
    'A'isha reported Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: The best of condiments or condiment is vinegar.
    Bukhari :: Book 7 :: Volume 71 :: Hadith 591
    Narrated Khalid bin Sad:

    We went out and Ghalib bin Abjar was accompanying us. He fell ill on the way and when we arrived at Medina he was still sick. Ibn Abi 'Atiq came to visit him and said to us, "Treat him with black cumin. Take five or seven seeds and crush them (mix the powder with oil) and drop the resulting mixture into both nostrils, for 'Aisha has narrated to me that she heard the Prophet saying, 'This black cumin is healing for all diseases except As-Sam.' Aisha said, 'What is As-Sam?' He said, 'Death."
    Dawud :: Book 26 : Hadith 3721
    Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas:

    I was in the house of Maymunah. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) accompanied by Khalid ibn al-Walid entered. Two roasted long-tailed lizards (dabb) placed on the sticks were brought to him. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) spat. Khalid said: I think that you abominate it, Apostle of Allah. He said: Yes. Then the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) was brought milk, and he drank (it). The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) then said: When one of you eats food, he should say: O Allah, bless us in it, and give us food (or nourishment) better than it. When he is given milk to drink he should say: O Allah! bless us in it and give us more of it, for no food or drink satisfies like milk.
    Hope it helps, Inshallah

    i have just checked the source of the information you provided and can just say WOW - i cant believe that it can help with soooo many ailments.

    I suffer from allergies and had basically given up on western medicine but will definitley try this - at least it can't harm me unlike drugs!!

    it helps for Diabetes, respitory, immune, kidney ailments etc

    all i'm thinking is "i can't belive i didnt know about this before" oh well better late then never.

    Re: Islamic SuperFoods

    you can find black cumin seeds in regular supermarkets...

    Hazrat Abu Hurairah States - “I have heard from Rasool Allah (Pbuh) that there is cure for every disease in black seeds except death and black seeds are shooneez.”

    Salim Bin Abdullah narrates with reference to his father Hazrat Abdullah Bin Omar that Rasool Allah (Pbuh) said, “Let fall these black seeds upon you, these contain cure for all diseases except death.”

    The same narration is found in Sanad-e-Ahmed from Hazrat Aisha (t) and in Ibn-al-Jozi and Trimizi from Abu Huraira. Hazrat Buraida narrates that Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) stated - “Shooneez is cure for all ailments except death.”
