Re: Islam and the evils of racism

    Assalamualaikum.

When I visited my sister in-law house I saw another guests. A hijabi woman and her husband with their two cute little boys. They looked happy. The wife is Indonesian woman, and the husband .... I bit wonder because the husband looked like Black African man, and their boys looked like African boys.

But after they gone my sister in-law told me that the husband indeed an African. He came to Indonesia for study, and then met the woman who now is his wife. He decided to become Indonesian citizen and live here.

There is no boundary that seperate one race with other races, if people can speak in one language. .... The Love Language.

Firstly, black people need to respect themselves. If they don't marry their own women, what does that tell about themselves? I read in the only International Uni in my country, there are some africans, but there is no way they would dare to approach local girls. Same with us, we don't approach any international girls.

My friend is native Indonesian, and he married White Australian woman who studied traditional art in campus near my home. So will you say Indonesian people need to respect themselves?.

If a man and a woman from different race meet and feel matched, what's wrong if they get married?. Whatever their race, they are human like us.

If there is a significant percentage, such as 10% or more, then yes. A few anecdotal experiences are nothing.

Besides we shouldn't want our children and grand children to look similar to us? We are humans, but we have different cultures and values developed over millenia.

Re: Islam and the evils of racism

Yeah I can't relate to any of this.

Being black is not the problem.

    The problem is the world..

We get to ages where the ego is a hard thing to destroy and the mind would become a cage if you let it.

And we could easily find any number of pretences to subjugate each other and find no fault in ourselves for doing so.

Things wont change because even though we all live together, we are ignorant of what we work towards.

Some quick to anger and some divisive of word.

The only experience I have had recently is when a manager sat in our crew room and said racism will not be tolerated any longer, quick dismissals for those doing it... no pun intended.

She went on, it's ok to act however you do at home or when your with friends but it wont be tolerated at work.

    The look on my face.

    ..I'm not even black.

But you get used to it, you know that after years of struggling your making headway in the world.

And it never really bothered you anyway because the only time people got under your skin was when you had been up to no good at home.

I just go to work wanting to give 100%, improving speed, efficiency and competency.

And have learned to change my home life accordingly.

    ..its a learning experience.

I don't understand the point of this place really.

When every word or answer is open to judgement, when every question is an invitation to follow..

I can't say I do anything right, but you only start to see things differently when you don't want to do anything wrong.

Re: Islam and the evils of racism

Maybe that's a little too long winded

Basically what I'm saying is that..and hear me out here.. you have to want to integrate.

You have to want to be part of communities that are not "your" communities.

Because the only way to affect change is to present yourself and what your willing to contribute to each other.

"An exclusive event to hear about the evils of racism and the unique contribution made by the African continent to the Muslim world"

...that's racist.. that's divisive.. it's a way of reinforcing a mentality you can't even admit too.

    But that's life.

I'm not saying Africa is not important historically... or currently.

All efforts should be made to improve the situation of people in developing countries or countries undergoing civil or provincial war.

And our differences in ethnic background or national background is not a weakness in this respect.

Because obviously you know better about where you come from than I do.

But you would be very wrong to assume I call for any intervention on your part.

Because we all live in places with much greater freedoms and better standards of life..more personal rights and laws to uphold them.. and still have conversations like thread related.

I read stats that say since the inception of Israel.. the biggest cause of violent death amongst muslims.. is Muslim on Muslim violence.

    Things do need to change.

Reading Quotes like this make me sick as a Muslim. How can any Muslim who loves Islam spew crap like this.

49 13 1 - Islam and the evils of racism
O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. one of the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2). Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.
    Quran 49:13.
