Note: only the first example is mentioned in the Qur'an.
The answer I had in mind was... locusts:

So We sent on them: the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs, and the blood (as a succession of) manifest signs, yet they remained arrogant, and they were of those people who were Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners). [Al-A'raf: 133]

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When the Prophet Job (Aiyub) was taking a bath naked, golden locusts began to fall on him. Job started collecting them in his clothes. His Lord addressed him, 'O Job! Haven't I given you enough so that you are not in need of them.' Job replied, 'Yes!' By Your Honor (power)! But I cannot dispense with Your Blessings.' "
    Sahih al-Bukhari Book 5, Hadith 31

No, it was fun! And I don't know about other people, but I didn't know about the golden locusts… so it was a learning experience. (smile) actually, I had to think and research a bit to find possible solutions, so the whole exercise was a form of worship, I think. Thank you!

May Allah Reward all those who help others to think and learn.

    I was using the following:

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "The wind is the Blessing of Allah. Sometimes it brings His Mercy and sometimes it brings His Chastisement. When you experience it, do not revile it but beg of Allah its good; and seek Allah's Refuge against its evil."

    [Abu Dawud with good Isnad].

    Narrated AbuHurayrah:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: The wind comes from Allah's mercy.

Salamah's version has: It is Allah's mercy; it (sometimes) brings blessing and (sometimes) brings punishment. So when you see it, do not revile it, but ask Allah for some of its good, and seek refuge in Allah from its evil.

Is it the staff of Prophet Sulaymaan ?

Then when We decreed death for him [Sulaiman], nothing informed them (jinn) of his death except a little worm of the earth, which kept (slowly) gnawing away at his stick. So when he fell down, the jinn saw clearly that if they had known the Unseen, they would not have stayed in the humiliating torment. [Saba: 14]

    Yes, you are right .

It is reported in a Hadith that Rasulullah said:
خير ماء على وجه الأرض ماء زمزم، فيه طعام طعم، وشفاء سقم
The best water on the face of the earth is the water of Zamzam; it is a kind of food and a healing from sickness. (Narrated by Tabrani in Mu'jamul Kabeer)

It was hidden for a long time after the death of Isma'il until Allah guided 'AbdulMuttalib (the Prophet's grandfather) to the location of the well through dreams. He dug the well once again and Zamzam continues to flow since then by the permission of Allah .

    Re: What am I?

Jazaakumullah khayr: for all the good questions and the beneficial information.

Also to add, with regards to zamzam being a blessing/blessed:

It was reported in Saheeh Muslim that the Prophet said to Abu Dharr (may Allaah be pleased with him), who had stayed near the Ka’bah and its coverings for forty days and nights with no food or drink other than (Zamzam): “How long have you been here?” Abu Dharr said: “I have been here for thirty days and nights.” The Prophet said, “Who has been feeding you?” He said, “I have had nothing but Zamzam water, and I have gotten so fat that I have folds of fat on my stomach. I do not feel any of the tiredness or weakness of hunger and I have not become thin.” The Prophet said: “Verily, it is blessed, it is food that nourishes.” (Narrated by Imaam Muslim, 2473).

    http://islamqa.info/en/6383

According to the hadeeth of Abu Dharr (may Allaah be pleased with him), the Prophet said concerning the water of Zamzam, “It is a blessing, and it is food that satisfies.” (Reported by Muslim, 4/1922). Al-Tayaalisi (61) added, in a version that he narrated: “and a cure for the sick.” i.e., drinking the water of Zamzam means that a person does not need to eat, and it will cure his sickness – but this is when he drinks it with faith and sincerity, as proven in the hadeeth of Abu Dharr al-Ghifaari who stayed in Makkah for a month without any nourishment except Zamzam water.

    Re: What am I?

Can I push in before I forget my question...

I am called by different names in the Qur'an

I am mentioned as an example in a verse mentioning Jannah
I am mentioned as an example in a passage mentioning the Hellfire
    I am a sign of Allaah's creation

    What am I?
    What am I?
