A story of an old man, who worked very hard throughout his life, and all his life earnings he bought a gold coin. He used to keep the gold coin with him wherever he went. One-day he was at home, and whilst changing his clothes the gold coin fell out and fell somewhere in the house. But he was poor, and didn’t have much money. There was no light in the house as it was night.

He came outside and started to look outside of the house where the streetlight was burning. He looked and looked. Eventually some youngsters passed by and said, “Mister, what are you doing?” He said that he’s looking for his gold coin. They all started to help and continued to look.

After a long time had passed nobody could find the gold coin. So the youngsters asked the old man, “Mister, where did you drop the gold coin?” He said, “I dropped the gold coin in my house.” The youngsters then asked, “why are you so foolish that you’re looking here for the gold coin?” He said to them that well in his house it is dark but outside there is light. These lights are bright lights so here he is looking for his gold coin. So the youngster realised he was a very foolish man.

Lesson: This is our example today. Allah (subhanahu-wata’ala) has given us the gold coin of*sukoon-e-dil(peace of heart) in our very house i.e. in our Deen. But where we see bright lights of this world, we are deceived by thinking that we’ll find*sukoon-e-dilin it. We can hunt and hunt, we’ll never find*sukoon-e-dil*in the bright lights of this temporary world.

Where we will find*sukoon-e-dil*is in the gatherings of Allah, in the gatherings of Thikrullah, in the Love and in the obedience to Allah (subhanahu-wata’ala).
