Hazrat mentioned the importance of the sunnah and the danger of even thinking of a sunnah of licking the fingers whilst eating as minor. He also mentioned the importance of unity And of hazrat mufti rafi uthmaanis efforts with the brelvi community
I also attended a janazah in the saville town ghaushia mosque of a 9 year old neighbour.and discussed unity.
When ahlullah say things and things happen in your life this can only be a sign from Allah taala
majlis october 2015
april 2013
the greatest need of our time is imaan and ikhlaas and islah even the shaheed, alim, charity giver were rejected due to lack of ikhlaas
the wife of hadhrat molana ashraf ali thanvi r.a. desired to live in her own home she talked to the wife of hazrat haji imdadullah makki db as they were in hajj together both mureed and shaykh on their return hadhrat hajji imdadullah r.a. advised hazrat molana thanvi r.a. to get his own house,he immediately did.
many divorces happen because muslims think they must all live together, that is wrong, even hadhrat molana ashraf ali thanvis wife desired to have her own house. there is nothing wrong in this
it is beneficial to go into the countryside and admire and ponder over the creation of allah hadhrat d.b. also visited caves in barbados where he has just returned from if you have a guest in your mosque take him out into the countryside for some fresh air and day out if he wishes
a daughter in law is not be treated like a maid
families must do mashwera and unfortunately too many rights of family members are being stolen in matters of inheritance
go to your shaykh with your ilnesses not with your self praise you dont go to a doctor to tell him you are well,do you,you tell him your ilness
a physical ilness will stop at death the spiritual ilness will still be in the grave and aakhirah, either cleansed in jahannum or forgiven on day of judgement
it is an unfortunate reality that even a khalifah or an alim can become non practicing becoming busy in dunya does not befit such people, apart from earning basic daily bread
hazrat molana ashraf ali thanvi even removed khilafat from some people and a non practicing alim cannot be truly an alim the honour bestowed upon such people can also be removed if they do not cherish it and maintain its respect
Majority of the older generation of `Ulamaa in SA were students of Hadhratji (Maulana Maseehullaah). The most famous of them, I would say, is Maulana A.S. Desai (Majlisul Ulama of South Africa).
Most of them went to study in one of two places: Jalaalabaad, or Deoband. A few studied in Binori Town, Karachi.

yes alhamdulillah.
from 1 Majlis I remember Hazrat mentioning that the aim of the Shaykh is that you follow the sunnah of huzoor s.a.w . and not the Shaykh. this is one of many qualities and statements which endear me to him.
he dislikes entourages, followers fawning around him,and many other things we see too commonly nowadays
his talks often mention the need for both tabligh and tasawwuf to get back to the original aims
he mentions much similar to molana a.s.desai but in softer tones...
i have also been reading majlis articles for years online and old magazines from south africa as i have family in south africa
both approaches are need
also mentioned recently was Hazrat shaikhul Hadith from Dewsbury darululoom who spent some time in hospital recently and praised the British social welfare system and NHS for the way people are treated irregardless of creed colour etc.
how we have all taken benefit of the welfare system of the u.k and should contribute much back.to treat non Muslims with respect as was the sunnah of huzoor s.a.w.
he has also condemned the grooming gangs which have been in the news from keighley,Rochdale etc .stating such abuse and exploitation as totally unacceptable.
he constantly states the need for caring for all of humanity,
from islahi majlis of hadhrat molana abdurrauf sahib d.b. batley
hadhrat mentioned haji imdadullah makki d.b. as the shaykh of hadhrat molana ashraf ali thanvi d.b. and molana qasim nanotwi and molana rashid ahmed gangohi though not an alim in classical sense but a shaykh of great akabireen.
this led to the safeguarding of humility where all knowledge attained by these greats was by barkat of shaykh, from allah taala
hadhrat molana abdurrauf saheb mentioned..hadhrat molana ashraf thanvi saheb d.b. returned tasawwuf to its pristine state, like separating milk from water, removing all the bidah etc
the shaykhs tawajju is like oil on a wheel to stop it squeaking, the effort has to be done by the mureed
hadhrat mentioned the aim of tasawwuf being neither pleasure or highs but pleasing allah s.w.t also .tasawwuf is not difficult, but should be taken seriously ,neither as a game or pastime, nor think it unimportant
the term "tahdith bin nemah" is now used too much to give people the "good news" of ones good deeds
the more knowledge one attains the more one should realize how ignorant one is
The association of the pious is better than acts of piety and the association of the evil is worse than acts of evil. guard the tongue, try to remain secluded, eat to need not desire, sleep in moderation
dont burn away good deeds by the tongue which never tires
majlis mentioned the importance of duas before during and after eating that there are more duas than generally known, which will be printed or are available by hazrat molana fazlurrahman saheb azaadville
the importance of thanking allah taala for the gift of food, for it to go down the throat, enter the stomach,be digested and excreted each a separate nemah hazrat talked of the aadaab of being a guest to not turn up without notice to not overburden hosts
in a meal dawat the guests should make duas for the hosts and the hosts should be thankful to allah taala for allowing their rozi(guests) to be eaten in their home(hosts)
hazrat also corrected some duas which are used but pronounced incorrectly or their is difference of opinion.
it was also mentioned how huzoor s.a.w. had a dua for every occasion and the uboodiyat of our beloved prophet s.a.w. and to try to follow in his footsteps
in majlis hazrat repeated the points above adding today the importance of halal rozi having a positive effect on us and haram or mixed rozi the opposite. he mentioned how hajjaj bin yusuf tricked some great awliya of the time to eat tainted food knowing the effect it would have on their duas ibadaat etc, there were many lessons explained from this.
how some ahlullah even today politely reject gifts with hikmah. advice was also given to advise with hikmah and softness without hurting someones feelings ibrahim a.s. made the kaaba but the heart of people is made by allah taala ,
even physical scars heal some without a trace but the scars of nasty words cut the heart and are much more difficult to forget.
mosque committee members were advised to be examples to the rest and not just critics
hazrat also talked of the importance of respecting different levels of people and how to address them.
he mentioned the story of hazrat abubakr r.a. and hazrat umar r.a. and huzoor s.a.w. extreme hunger and the dawah by abu ayyub ansari r.a. .eating dates ,then sharing a goat, then taking some for hazrat faatimah r.a. who had not seen such food for days.
it was mentioned that we should refer to the shamail e tirmizi regarding cupping as the issue is not as simple as many think it is
tabligh was mentioned and told that they should give dawah to go to khanqah and islahi bayans and vice versa. people in each effort should also try to give some time to the other if possible,if not at least respect the other effort that it was wrong of any particular effort of deen to claim exclusivity or superiority over another. also to say hidaayat only comes by our way is wrong,by anyone tabligh and tasawwuf and taleem are all deen and all valid and valued
some things hazrat has said in the past too many mureeds today desire khilafah instead if desiring allah some people who are not given khilafah after many years leave the shaykh. was this the purpose of beit
a true Muslim desires no titles only closeness to allah taala.
to add he stated hazrat molana ashraf ali thanvi saheb r.a. would remove khilafah from one whose condition had deteriorated.even with a public announcement.
titles and positions have great responsibility. they are not be desired or publicised if possible
in today's Majlis Hazrat mentioned the dangers of pride and how the ulema can be very susceptible to this due to the title they have. that Allah taala made it such that dr abdulhayy aarifi (a non alim)was the Shaykh of mufti taqi uthmani and his brother and he instructed them not to do any bayan for 10 years anywhere.that a true buzrug or alim will not like or desire any respect and gifts/praises etc
also mentioned was the numbers of habitual namazees missing rakats.and people rushing straight after salam and talking after salah in the mosque also about mentoring the youth and saving them from being manipulated to be wary of fake shaykhs and websites on the net and to verify information and fatwas etc from the net by local reputable scholars
it is beneficial to go into the countryside and admire and ponder over the creation of allah hadhrat d.b. also visited caves in barbados where he has just returned from if you have a guest in your mosque take him out into the countryside for some fresh air and day out if he wishes
