The major sins are those acts which have been forbidden by Allah in the Quran and by His Messenger (SAW) in the Sunnah (practise of the Prophet), and which have been made clear by the actions of of the first righteous generation of Muslims, the Companions of the Prophet (SAW).
Allah Most High says in His Glorious Book:
If you avoid the major (part) of what you have been forbidden (to do), We will cancel out for you your (other) evil deeds and will admit you (to Paradise) with a noble entry. (al-Nisa 4:31)
Thus by this verse, Allah Most High has guaranteed the Garden of Paradise to those who avoid the major sins. And Allah Most High also says:
Those who avoid the greatest of sins and indecencies, and forgive when they are angry (al-Shra 42:37) Those who avoid the greatest sins and indecencies, except for oversights, (will find that) surely your Lord is ample in forgiveness. (Al-Najm 53:32)
The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "The five [daily] prayers, Friday to Friday, and Ramadan to Ramadan make atonement for what has happened since the previous one when major sins have been avoided." It is therefore very important to determine exactly what the greatest vices, technically called "the major sins" (Kaba'ir), are, in order that Muslims should avoid them.
There is some difference of opinion among scholars in this regard. Some say these major sins are seven, and in support of their position they quote the tradition: "Avoid the seven noxious things"- and after having said this, the propeht (SAW) mentioned them: "associating anything with Allah; magic; killing one whom Allah has declared inviolate without a just case, consuming the property of an orphan, devouring usury, turning back when the army advances, and slandering chaste women who are believers but indiscreet." (Bukhari and Muslim)
'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas said: "Seventy is closer to their number than seven," and indeed that is correct. The above tradition does not limit the major sins to those mentioned in it. Rather, it points to the type of sins which fall into the category of "major." These include those crimes which call for a prescribed punishment (HADD; plural, HUDUD), such as theft, fornication or adultery (ZINA), and murder; those prohibited acts for which a warning of a severe punishment in the Next is given in the Qur'an or the tradition; and also those deeds which are cursed by our Prophet (SAW). These are all major sins.
Of course, there is a gradation among them, since some are more serious than others. We see that the Prophet (SAW) has included SHIRK (associating someone or something with Allah) among them, and from the text of the Qur'an we know that a person who commits SHIRK will not his sin be forgiven and will remain in Hell forever.
Allah Most High says:

Wearing one's clothes too long and pass down the ankles is sign of pride. And Allah hates those who are full of pride. The kings and royalty always have their capes or dress dragging several feet behind them if you noticed. There's a hadith saying there was a man who was full of himself with pride, he used to drag his clothes so far behind as he walked boastfully outside, Allah caused the earth to swallow him up and he continues to sink (in the earth) till day of J-day (i think, correct me if i'm wrong guys).
So two things. One, long clothes and dragging them is part of pride which itself is a sin and can/may lead you to hellfire. 2nd, it is Sunnah to wear trousers above the ankles.
lastly, this applies to men only. Women must cover up according what/how they have been commanded by Allah and His Messenger (saws).

Highway robbery (i think) means those who hide on the path/road and jump travelers and rob them.

It's good to remind people to be kind, but there is different type of kindness. This one talks about reminding others of the kindness YOU did for them. Kind of like rubbing it in on the person. Not only is it bad, but you loose all your deeds for that act as well.

Bro, Jummah is a must for those who are adults. In islam, anyone who has hit puberty is an adult and will be held accountable for his/her deeds. As for those students in schools, they can try asking for that time off to pray Jummah or if they are enough muslims in school, they can do their own jummah at school instead of going to masjid.
I'm kinda confused at the "above the ankles" thingie. I can't see how wearing decent length pants would show any pride. We see most women wearing too long "nikabs". They drag them on the dirt and dust. In many public places, people can't but step on their lengthy clothes. How come this is allowed?????
Does it mean that all guys wearing normal-sized pants would go to hell????

I hope this helps.
There are many similar ahaadeeth, which indicate that isbaal is forbidden in general terms, even if the one who does it claims that he is not doing it for the sake of pride and showing off, because that is a means that leads to pride, and because it is a kind of extravagance and exposing clothing to dirt and impurities. But if a person does that with the intention of pride then the matter is more serious and the sin is greater, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever allows his garment to drag out of pride, Allaah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.” The defining point here is the ankles. The Muslim male is not allowed to let his garments come down below the ankles, because of the ahaadeeth mentioned.
About women dragging her garment:
The warning with regard to isbaal (wearing clothes that come below the ankle) in the case of men does not apply to women, because women and commanded to cover their feet, and it is permitted to them to lengthen their garments by a cubit.
Al-Qaadi ‘Iyaad said:
The scholars are unanimously agreed that this is forbidden to men, not to women.
Al-Nawawi said:
The scholars are unanimously agreed that it is permissible for women to let their garments hang below their ankles (isbaal). Clear permission has been narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) for them to lower their hems by a cubit.
But in the case of females, they may make their clothes longer so as to cover the feet.

Ok, now I know that Shirk in Islam is not forgiven. So what if one commits one of these major sins knowingly but does NOT repent? They go to hell in your view?

Shirk in Islam is not forgiven if the person dies in that state, it can be forgiven if one repents from it before death overtakes them.
The major sins can be forgiven if Allah wills, and He is the Most Just. Or He can punish the person if He wills. And He is the Most Just.
