    Red face Dr. Zakir Naik

    Report bad ads?

He is a man of Allah! A Mujahid who jihad against his own “nafs” and became a practicing Muslim! But he didn’t stop just there. Now you see him holding the banner of Islam in a country India where many religions prevail with some trying to suppress Islam. He not only faces opposition from many of the Hindu, Sikh, and Christian etc extremists but even from the so-called Muslims divided into various sects! I thought he would crumple under all this. But then I read a verse of Quran about which I constantly wonder which describe believers like him:
“When the believers hear a bad news, it only strengthens them in their faith”.
    Medical Life and hardwork:
He was a BRILLIANT student, I mean among toppers! He went through all this mind boggling anatomy, pharmacology; pathology etc. He related that he would sleep for less than 6 hours. His aim was to become the best cardiologist in world and I bet he had achieved it if he had continued it further!
    Orator in the making:
In his 2nd year medical school, he heard and drove great inspiration from Sheikh Ahmad Deedat. Such was Zakir Naik’s ambition for Allah that he would drive Sheik’s car just to spend more time with him so that he could learn from him.(Ahmad Deedat teaching Zakir Naik
    Deedat Plus:
Sheikh Ahmad Deedat was so impressed by Zakir Naik that he gave him this title. Deedat said that what he achieved in his 40 years, Zakir Naik, driven so much by the love of Allah achieved only in 4! (Ahmad Deedat giving Deedat Plus title to Zakir Naik http://youtu.be/ti0dXu3HBho )

Ahmad Deedat had very authoritative knowledge of Bible (old and new one). He taught all of that to him and then advised him to achieve more. So Zakir Naik worked to such extremity that he not only gained knowledge of the Holy Quran, but even read books of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism etc! When other youth of his age was engaged in movies, romantic songs, or pleasures of this world, he studied!
Allah has bestowed Zakir Naik with such intellectual ability that he could recall not only verses from the Scriptures but even the verse and chapter numbers! His logic, mathematical and analytical skills are excellent. He has incredible knowledge of science as well.
I’ve observed that the orators of Allah are bestowed with a magical, mesmerizing voice and eloquence as a blessing from HIM. Zakir Naik used to be a stammerer and never even imagined himself speaking on a public platform. Instead he trained and taught his companions. But at one time, one of them got cold feet and so zakir naik had to take over and thus was paved the way of one of the best orators of islam!
    His Sacrifices:
I believe the higher the rank you want in the sight of Allah, the bigger the sacrifice had to be! Zakir Naik practiced medicine for some time along with Dawah training. But then knowing better he sought permission from his mother to be a full time Da’ee of Allah and leave all the hard work of medical behind, just for the sake of All-Mighty. His parents were such great humans that even after all the money and time investment in him; they allowed him to do so! Zakir Naik opened up a small office of Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) in Mumbai. He and his companions suffered may financial constraints. Where the Churches, Hindus and other religions were spending trillions in promoting their religion, IRF even with such limited resources fought back as hard as it could and never gave up hope in Allah! (Because we Muslims have seen in our history how at the time of Battle of Badr, we were only 313 against 1000 plus well equipped army but Allah helped us and made us victorius!)
    A Visionary:
It seems like Zakir Naik spent himself and all that he had in the way of Allah by promoting IRF so that it could fight misconceptions against Islam, would call “People of the Book” to the common terms between us(Muslims) and them, would call pagans and idolaters to One true Allah and many such activities. He furnished the IRF office better than his own house because he wanted to give in the way of Allah the best of his (not like the average Muslims who would give used battered clothes or the worst they possess in Allah’s way). Seeing that the genius he is, he did very good planning and opened Islamic International School (IIS), making Islamic gadgets like Peace Mobile, opening channels like Peace TV Network in 4 major languages, starting charity organizations (Bait-ul-Mal)etc.
    Awards and Praise:
A man of Allah only requires a high rank in the sight of Allah and don’t care about worldly praise. Yet Allah has made him so successful in this world and insha Allah will in the next. There is a whole list. He is given Islamic Personality of the Year award, Sharjah award, included in the most influential Muslims in the world etc.
    His Personality:
I don’t know much but he seems like a very deep thinking, quiet person, very well mannered, practicing Muslim and an obedient son. A father of 3, he teaches them to become good Muslims too. A very good husband because he never fails to give a credit to his wife for his achievements.
So far many people have accepted Islam because of his work and the Muslims including the youth which had no interest and understanding of Islam before, became so inspired by him that they too aim to become like Zakir Naik someday insha Allah!
These are all my observations collected over the years. You can know him too by following his lectures. Rest if I made any mistake then may Allah forgive me. In every case Allah knows best.
Please make lot dua for him and his family. There is much propaganda against such believers and we only seek Allah’s help and depend upon Him!
    Wasalam!

P.S please no hate speech here as it is just for info purposes. I request admins to close this thread. J.Z!

    Mashallah! what a beautiful thread.

Brother Zakir is one of the persons who helped me see the truths of Islam. Allah azza wa jal has used Zakir Naik in mighty ways. I'm forever grateful for all that he's done for me and countless others, but at the same time, I don't want to praise him excessively. None of Zakir Naik's skills or success would've been achieved had it not been for Ar-Rahman [The Most Gracious]. May Allah grant brother Zakir the highest level of Jannah.

    Re: Dr. Zakir Naik

Zakir Nike knows about comparative studies and his specialism is Bible and verses in Quran which relate to scientific discoveries. However he is no expert in Islamic jurisprudence so it would be wrong to take him as authority on Islamic matters. He oversteps his boundaries at times and gives opinions which go against Ijmaa of the Majority.

I too was once jaded by him and Muslims give him credence because "he reverts others". However we should note that Malcolm X also reverted through nation of Islam. Basically...we shouldn't give credibility based on how many they revert but what they are guided to!

I would advise reading the books here by Ulema to understand further when he has overstepped and how:

Be Careful who you call a Kafir

It is reported on the authority of Ibn `Umar that the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) said: Any person who calls his brother: O Unbeliever! (then the truth of this label) would return to one of them. If it is true, (then it is) as he asserted, (but if it is not true), then it returns to him (and thus the person who made the accusation is an Unbeliever). [Muslim]

Therefore, if you call other Muslims "kafir" or "mushrik" without discrimination, you could find that you have left Islam, according to the words of the Prophet (s.a.w.), in less than a second.

    Re: Dr. Zakir Naik

It is sad to have to close a thread because of members behaviour, and one Muslim member cursing another, and the thread going off topic.

In regards to the latest discussion on Yazeed, see this:

Our attitude towards Yazeed ibn Mu’aawiyah

I heard of this person Yazeed Ibn Muawiyah. I heard that he once a calipha of the muslims and he was a drunken sadistic person, who was not really a muslim. Is this true? Please tell me his story. Thank you and may allah bless you.

    Praise be to Allaah.

His name was Yazeed ibn Mu’aawiyah ibn Abi Sufyaan ibn Harb ibn Umayaah al-Umawi al-Dimashqi.

Al-Dhahabi said: he was the commander of that army during the campaign against Constantinople, among which were people such as Abu Ayyoob al-Ansaari. Yazeed was appointed by his father as his heir, so he took power after his father died in Rajab 60 AH at the age of thirty-three, but his reign lasted for less than four years.

Yazeed is one of those whom we neither curse nor love. There are others like him among the khaleefahs of the two states (Umawi/Umayyad and ‘Abbaasi/Abbasid) and the governors of various regions, indeed there were some among them who were worse than him. But the issue in the case of Yazeed is that he was came to power forty-nine years after the death of the Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him); it was still close to the time of the Prophet and some of the Sahaabah were still alive such as Ibn ‘Umar who was more entitled to the position than him or his father or his grandfather.

His reign began with the killing of the martyr al-Husayn and it ended with the battle of al-Harrah, so the people hated him and he was not blessed with a long life. There were many revolts against him after al-Husayn, such as the people of Madeenah who revolted for the sake of Allaah, and Ibn al-Zubayr.

    (Siyar A’laam al-Nubalaa’, part 4, p. 38)

Shaykh al-Islam described people’s attitudes towards Yazeed ibn Mu’aawiyah, and said:

The people differed concerning Yazeed ibn Mu’aawiyah ibn Abi Sufyaan, splitting into three groups, two extreme and one moderate.

One of the two extremes said that he was a kaafir and a munaafiq, that he strove to kill the grandson of the Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to spite the Messenger of Allaah and to take revenge on him, and to avenge his grandfather ‘Utbah, his grandfather’s brother Shaybah and his maternal uncle al-Waleed ibn ‘Utbah and others who were killed by the companions of the Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), by ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib and others on the day of Badr and in other battles – and things of that nature. To have such a view is easy for the Raafidis who regard Abu Bakr, ‘Umar and ‘Uthmaan as kaafirs, so it is much easier for them to regard Yazeed as a kaafir.

The second extreme group think that he was a righteous man and a just leader, that he was one of the Sahaabah who were born during the time of the Prophet and were carried and blessed by him. Some of them give him a higher status than Abu Bakr and ‘Umar, and some of them regard him as a prophet. Both views are obviously false to one who has the least common sense and who has any knowledge of the lives and times of the earliest Muslims. This view is not attributable to any of the scholars who are known for following the Sunnah or to any intelligent person who has reason and experience.

The third view is that he was one of the kings of the Muslims, who did good deeds and bad deeds. He was not born until the caliphate of ‘Uthmaan. He was not a kaafir but it was because of him that the killing of al-Husayn happened, and he did what he did to the people of al-Harrah. He was not a Sahaabi, nor was he one of the righteous friends of Allaah. This is the view of most of the people of reason and knowledge and of Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah.

Then they divided into three groups, one which cursed him, one which loved him and one which neither cursed him nor loved him. This is what was reported from Imaam Ahmad, and this is the view of the fair-minded among his companions and others among the Muslims. Saalih ibn Ahmad said: I said to my father, some people say that they love Yazeed. He said, O my son, does anyone love Yazeed who believes in Allaah and the Last Day? I said, O my father, why do you not curse him? He said, O my son, when did you ever see your father curse anybody?

Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi said, when he was asked about Yazeed: according to what I have heard he is neither to be cursed nor to be loved. He said, I also heard that our grandfather Abu ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Taymiyah was asked about Yazeed and he said: we do not deny his good qualities or exaggerate about them. This is the fairest opinion.
