    Our Duty?

    Report bad ads?

Well i've been back and form, and recently i cant stop thinking about it.

I just wanted to know, is it our duty to in someway "DIRECTLY" inform someone that

"There is NO GOD but ALLAH! And his messenger is Muhammad Saws"

I understand thats an extremely open, straightforward and direct approach but i just dont want to be held accountable for not conveying the message to someone around me... so i wanted to kno, even if its your boss or some stranger that happened to say hi 2 u, must you convey the message?

    Re: Our Duty?

i think u become sinful wen u cud have conveyed the message but u didnt, like u had the chance/oportunity but didnt.

also as its a fardh obligation upon us to giv dawah if living in a non muslim country we have to find ways of doing it, i dnt think it really matters by what means u do it (obviously in halal ways) such as through dawah projects/organisations/stalls etc etc.

    assalaamu alaykum mazed,

generally you are responsible for every non muslim who you know and do not invite to islam, this is a FARD duty so yes you are sinful in not making the effort to invite them to islam.

Do any of you work in such an environment by any chance? Would really like to understand how you go about doing this... its hard for me. I have the lowest position and this job means nothing to me compared to my religion, i just want to know the best way to go about doing it...

Firstly be a gud example of a muslim to them, let them see the gud honest humble character of a tru muslim.

ask them strate waht their beliefs are, why they think they are in this world, what their purpose of life is etc etc. be blunt, dnt be afraid, u need to put that spark in their mind, the rest will follow, speak about islam, question their beliefs.

i've done this to three of them. The questioning i mean, questioned them nicely !!! One of them started sayin this life is sooo crap Alhamdullilah he was getting there. But then the next day he slipped again.
However the others are like my superiors, i hardly EVER see them and when i do its in a huge meeting... so that makes it harder.

Anyway i got the answer im lookin for. JazakAllah khair for all the advice, Allah will help me convey his message inshaAllah. Allah does everything, we're only the means

    assalaamu alaykum brother,

one of the people who i am most hopeful for with giving dawah is actually a level 2 manager (i am a level 5 pleb) so on the same level as my bosses, bosses boss...

so seniority shouldnt make too much difference if you politely address people and talk to them as human beings first.

just keep trying brother and you'll get better at it, dawah is not something you can learn fully in class or from a book certainly, you need practical experience to get good at it.

    assalaamu alaykum,

    Re: Our Duty?

I am teaching Kitaab-At-Tawheed and I was reading Sheikh ibn Uthaymeens commentory on it and in the 5th chapter which is : Calling to Laa ilaaha Ilallah there was mentioned the hadeeth of when Rasulullah peace be upon him sent Mu3aadh ibn Jabal and Abi Hurairah to Yemen for Da3wah to the Christians and the Jews.

So Under this Hadeeth Ibn Uthaimeen stated that a persons Tawheed is not complete until he calls unto the way of Allah. And since it is from one of the parts of Da3wah that we should have Hikmah (Wisdom) it is necessary for us to evaluate the state of the Person towards whom we are giving Da'wah.
Is he the type of person who will needs 3unf? (firmness/harshness)
Is he the type of person to be dealt gently with?
What is his current situation now?
And other aspects of the person.

As we know that Allah said " Call unto the way of your Lord with Hikmah"

Yes it is our responsibility as Muslims to call unto the way of Allah.....but this can also be done thru our actions. Because actions also play a major role.....
So first look at what type of people your supreriors are? Are the type of people who will accept you speaking to them about this matter and will be decent about it? Not to say that you shouldn't be aggressive.....but then in some situations it brings more harm than good.

My Father is General Manager of a Company........and My father is masha'allah a very practising Muslim. And that is difficult to do here in the Bahamas where there is fitnah in just about every direction you look. But alhamdulilah he even comes to work wearing his full Jubbah and Kufi...sometimes he wears his turban.
When Managers from different companies come to see him on business matters, he takes them home to our house for lunch/dinner and he eats with them in the manner of the Sunnah and talks with them about Islaam.
So far 2 of the workers have become immensely intersted in Islaam and have even requested coming to the masjid. And they have even started using words like Insha'allah etc lol.

My father doesn't go around preaching to the employees everytime......this would make them uncomfortable of course, but he deals with them in an Islamic matter and now they totally respect my father for what he is Masha'allah........Because they see that he is someone who wouldn't give up his Deen for anything. Alhamdulillah. That in itself is already a Da3wah

    Re: Our Duty?

Yeah, Allaahu a'lam - but maybe you should warn them about the more important issues like why alcohol is haraam etc. instead of them thinking that your just annoying them for no reason.

    1) So first call them to tawheed.

    2) The Messengers of Allaah conveying the message.

    3) The main principles of our faith, and why we follow them.

I heard in a lecture by anwar awlaki, that Aa'isha radhiAllaahu anha said that the people wouldn't give up their zina, or alcohol etc. if these were the first verses revealed in the Qur'an.

But the Makkan verses revealed in the beginning of the Qur'aan were regarding the tawheed of Allaah azawajal, rejecting the false accusations which were placed upon the beloved Messenger of Allaah (sal Allaahu alayhi waSalam), and regarding the afterlife - qiyamah (day of judgement), jannah (paradise) and jahannam (hell.)

Once the people grasped the idea of them, then when in Medina - the revelations came which banned alcohol etc.

So call them to tawheed first insha'Allaah, it's your duty to call to that - but if they reject, then it's between them and Allaah azawajal. Your duty is to be clear in conveying the message insha'Allaahu ta'aala, but in a way which may bring them closer and become interested.

    Allaah Almighty knows best.

I think you should invite them to mosque with you. The worse they can say is no. It will show that you truly care for them.

    Re: Our Duty?

First that you have to do insha Allah showing your self as a good practising muslim. And it brings a great influences to thos enon muslim manytimes U know . I heard some shuyukh ever visited USA. And theres a roomboy always paying attention to what they do and behave. And the way they dress and all. And the roomboy also talked to them. And Because these shuyukh very practising Islam especially in sunnah, then this roomboy very interested in the way they behave to eachother eventhough to someone not muslim like him.And he asked many things to the shuyukh. And in the end he became muslim masha Allah.
And akheel kareem...Im working too. I ever have this kinda training of heavy equipment in some big company here. And I was in a class with these awwam mechanics who many of them even dont do Salah eventhough they called them self as a muslims. And I was doing my self introspection so much while I was there. I realized, if only I didnt learn Islam, if only I dont know about Tauhid, sunnah, halal wal haram, of course I would get influenced by them. And its happened astaghfirullah, when they turned on music I was like Humming along with the music (cause I was almost be a singer when I was in univ, and used to like it astaghfirullah). I was humming and then when I realized I quit but then its happen sometimes. That time I felt I had to strengthen my self not to hear it, cause its haram. And then I talked to them step by step, first about salah, it was started by their own question to me when they saw me moving my finger while tasyahud, so that time Its a good chance for me to explain about sunnah and the salah according sunnah, and then our conversation spreaded into a lot of matters in daily life. Alhamdulillah they showed interest, and I had this training about three months. And alhamdulillah after that three months most of them understood about basic in Islam. Alamdulillah.
So...I think first we should learn more about Islam, cause if we dont, then its us who will be influenced by them. And then we should practise sunnah and we may make them see about one sunnah that maybe they dont know(in case you work amogth awwam muslim). So maybe by seeing it they wanna ask something to us. And its not riya insha Allah. And then find a good time to talk about Islam. Bring the topic step by step to Islam while you talk to them, bring the solution in eeeeeeeevery problems to Islam, and dont give advice too often. litlle tips insha Allah. Hope manfaat for you and me too.
