Meaning and belief of the testifications in Islam

    By: Al-Fateh

The meaning of (Ash hadu an la ilaha illa Allah wa ash hadu anna muhammadan rasulu Allah) that is:

I believe that Muhammad, the son of Abdullah, the son of Abd Al-Mutalib, the son of Hashim the son of Abd Manaf Al-Qurashii (pbuh) is the slave of Allah and his messanger sent to the ENTIRE creation. And that is followed by believing also that the prophet(pbuh) was born in Mecca and was sent(bu'th) in it and migrated to Medina and was buried in it. Prophets are buried where they die. And that belief also includes that he was truthfull in everything he has said, ordained, and delivered:

- Believing in the Torment of the grave for both the Kaffir as well as the sinning Muslim

- Believing in the comfort of the grave for the Muslims because the prophet also spoke of it.

- Believing in the questions of the two angels, Munkar and Nakeer, on both Muslims and non-Muslims.

- Believing in the Resseruction (Al-Baa'th), which is the awakening of the dead and its resseruction from its graves.

- Believing in the Exile, Banishment (Al-Hashr), in which all creation is gathered in one place.

- Believing in the Day of Judgment (Al-Qiyama), from the moment of reserruction of the dead, till the people of Jannah enter it, and the people of Hell enter it.

- Belieiving in the Judgement (Hisab) when one will be shown what he/she did good/bad

- Believing in the Scale/Balance (Al-Mizaan),

- Believing in Hell (Jahanam)

- Believing in the the straight path (Al-Sirat) which is also described as the bridge on which people cross over to Jannah

- Believing in the Hawd, and it is a place in which Allah has created what is like a pond, from which the people of Jannah drink from it before entering it, no thirst will ever consume them.

- The belief in Shafaa'a, and it is ONLY for the Muslims. Allah(swt) is the one that accepts it from who he permits and allows.

- Beliving in Jannah

- Believing of the vision of Allah(swt), that vision will be gifted only to the people of Jannah in means that is different than what we use in our life, such as the eyes.

- Believing in Eternity (Al-Khulud), people of Jannah, and people of Jahannam

- Believing in the Angels of Allah(swt)

- Believing in Allah's prophets and messangers.

- Believing in the Books of Allah(swt) which are several, but most popular of them are the Torah, Injeel(bible), Zabur, Furqan (Al-Quran).

- Believing in the destiny, and what is consists of Good and Evil. Everything is destined by Allah(swt).
