Point of benefits regarding invoking Allaah, which is known as Dua Invocation.

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem Al Hamdu lillaahi Rabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

Point of benefits regarding invoking Allaah, which is known as Dua Invocation.

The great scholar Sheikh Abdur-Rahmaan As Sa’dee, rahimuhullaah asserted that the one who invokes Allaah seeking something or asking him to ward something off that he fears he should not have his intention limited to this objective of seeking or warding off. Rather he should have his intention be getting closer to Allaah or nearer to Allaah by invocation, since invocation is worship. Therefore, whomever his intention in dua is to get closer to Allaah then this is perfect, much more perfect! Than the one who limits his intention for that which he seeks or to seek to gain of to ward off something, which he dislikes, he said the situation of most people is restricted, their intention being only to seek what they want to ward off what they dislike. Alternatively, what they fear, this is deficiency, deprivation, and loss of the great merit of invoking Allaah having the greatest intention getting closer to Him, and drawing nearer to Him. So this a very Important benefit which is overlooked by most of the people. When they invoke Allaah they focus on the matter which they only are seeking, either to gain or to be warded off. In addition, they completely forget about the most Important issue of getting closer to Allaah or drawing nearer to Allaah, because dua invocation is worship. Moreover, Allaah loves to be invoked He loves for people, for His creation to ask Him.

    The second point of benefit
There are conditions for the dua invocation to be answered by Allaah, these conditions are to be met and they are.

1.Responding to Allah’s demand of compliance with His commands and staying away from his prohibitions. Listen to what Allaah says in this respect.

    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) said:
    Sûrat Al-Baqarah(The Cow)

And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright [2:186]

This is the condition so that they may be lead aright, so the one who does not obey and submit to Allaah, then he will deprive himself from Allaah answering his supplication, because sins and disobedient acts stand as a barrier between the slave and Allaah answering his invocation. Some of the righteous predecessors A Salaf A Salih, said “do not say the answer is delayed when you blocked its road or its path by sins”.

The third condition, The invocation must be by supplicating Allaah alone.

Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) said: Sûrat Al-Jinn(The Jinn)

And the mosques are for Allâh (Alone): so invoke not anyone along with Allâh[72:18]

Abu al-‘Abbas ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas, radiyallahu anhuma, reported: One day I was behind the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, and he said to me:
"O young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice] : Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you (have need to) ask, ask of Allah; and if you seek help, seek help from Allah. Know that even if the Nation (or the whole community) were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you with anything except that which Allah has already recorded for you, and that if they gather together to harm you with something, they would not be able to harm you with anything except that which Allah has already recorded against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried."[Al-Tirmidhi relates this and says: It is a good, genuine Hadith]
In a version other than that of al-Tirmidhi it reads:"..Be mindful of Allah, you will find Him before you. Get to know Allah in prosperity and He will know you in adversity. Know that what has passed you by was not going to befall you; and that what has befallen you was not going to pass you by. And know that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and ease with hardship."

The forth condition: is the presence of the heart while invoking, supplicating. So ones heart should present, understanding what he says, contemplating the greatness of the one whom he is invoking. In addition, its not befitting for the one who humbles himself to Allaah and submit to Him to address Allaah by words which he does not understand and does not contemplate their meanings.

And in a Hadeeth The Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:And know that does not answer the dua from a heedless heart.

The fifth condition is: not to hasten in the dua, because the supplicator might invoke Allaah and the responds might be delayed, due to a wisdom known to Allaah so “[Shaytaan (Satan)] might take this opportunity and whispers to the person to leave the invocation and thus despair.

Abu Huraira reported Allaah's Messenger (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying: The supplication of the servant is granted in case he does not supplicate for sin or for severing the ties of blood, or he does not become impatient. It was said: Allaah's Messenger, what does:" If he does not grow impatient" imply? He said: That he should say like this: I supplicated and I supplicated but I did not find it being responded. And then he becomes frustrated and abandons supplication [Saheeh Muslim]

And here the person must know that since the dua is ibadaa is worship and if he makes more dua then he is on a great good weather he sees the responds or sees the delay on it.And we know Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) he answers the invocation either he gives what the invoker asked for or delays to the hereafter or wards off something evil equivalent to that but something evil. Therefore, the person does not know really where is the good, that is why he must keep on invoking Allaah and have full trust in Allaah, and this is the content which distinguish the believer

The sixth condition: is to have his food his drink his clothing lawful, of lawful ways, of lawful means earned in lawful ways.
Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu 'anhu, reported that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, said:
“Verily Allah the Exalted is pure. He does not accept but that which is pure. Allah commands the believers with what He commanded the Messengers. Allah the Almighty has said: "O you Messengers! Eat of the good things and act righteously" [23:51-53]. And Allah the Almighty also said: "O you who believe! Eat of the good things thatWe have provided you with"[2:167-172].
Then he (the Prophet sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) mentioned (the case of) the man who, having journeyed far, is dishevelled and dusty and who stretches out his hands to the sky (saying): "O Lord! O Lord!" (while) his food was unlawful, his drink was unlawful, his clothing was unlawful, and he is nourished with unlawful things, so how can he be answered?”[Muslim]

The seventh condition is the dua must be in matters that are good, in good matters

The Prophet sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said a person will be answered as long as he does not invoke something that is sin, or severing the ties of kinship.

The eight condition is: having good opinion in Allaah the Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said let no one of you die except that he has good opinion in Allaah and also he the Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said invoke Allaah while you are certain in his responds

There are two exceptions to this situation, when conditions are not met, there exception if the condition does not met, there can be answer and this includes number one.

The invocation of the one in dire needs even if he is a mushrik even if the person is a disbeliever a non believer so what about if he is a Muslim and a believer.

Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) said: SûratAn-Naml(The Ants)

Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls on Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Little is that you remember![27:62]

And the one who is indeed like for example the one who is ill or poor or afflicted by clamity .

The second is the invocation of one who is oppressed, or unjustly dealt with. On the other hand, injustice has done to him.

Narrated by Ibn Abbas (Radhiyaallahu anhu) The Prophet sent Mu'adh to Yemen and said, "Be afraid, from the curse of the oppressed as there is no screen between his invocation and Allah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) [Saheeh Al Bukhari]

And he the Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said the dua of the oppressed one is answered even though he maybe a disobedient sinner because his sin is upon himself so the invocation of the oppressed against the oppressor one who did unjustly to him who had done injustices is answered so the person must be aware of this

This brings the condition concerning answering of the invocation to conclusion

We ask Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) to make us from those who ascribe and fullfil this condtion and in that what pleases Allaah the most High.
Alhamdulilah Rabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.
Point of benefits regarding invoking Allaah, which is known as Dua Invocation.

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy. By the time! Verily mankind is at loss – except for those who believe and perform righteous deeds, and advise one another towards the truth and advise one another towards patience.

Re: Point of benefits regarding invoking Allaah, which is known as Dua Invocation.

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem Al Hamdu lillaahi Rabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

In the name of Allaah the most beneficent the most merciful, I testify that there is no true God worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad is Allah s true slave and messenger.
We continue on the points of benefits on dua. (Supplication)

    Dua (Supplication).
The example of dua is the example of door, shut to protect great treasures, and you cannot reach these treasures until you open the door, so the door is a shield between you and the treasures. And the treasures are the fruits of invocation and the keys are that you bring forth with you the means by which the dua is answered, you take the right causes. You do what is required for the door to be opened.

It was said to Ibraheem Bin Adham rahimahullaah, what is the matter that we call Allaah and we do not receive an answered?

He said:“its because you knew Allah, but you didn’t obey Him, and you knew the Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) but you did not follow his Sunnah , and you knew the Quraan but you didn’t act according to it .And you eat from the favors of Allaah but you didn’t give thanks,And you knew of paradise but you didn’t seek it, and you knew about the fire of hell but you didn’t run away from it, and you knew the“[Shaytaan (Satan)] but you didn’t fight him rather you agreed with him, you knew of the death butr you didn’t prepare yourself for it, dead but you didn’t give heed, and you forget about your shortcomings and you busied yourself with the shortcoming of others. Therefore, a tawbah (repentance) is need. Atawbah asking for repentance.

The time when dua is anticipated to be answered, these times Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) has made then as signs for his slaves, so that to utilize for this life and for the hereafter. And these times are as follows the dua in the later third of the night

Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said "Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying: "Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?"( Saheeh Bukhari)
    Abu Bakr At thawtusee said:

He is not a Faqhi the one with fiqh of understanding the one who has something to ask from Allaah, then goes, and sleeps in the later part of the night.

The second time is the dua of a sujud prostration, the dua during the prostration,
Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: the nearest or the closet the person would be with Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) is while in prostration or make a abundant dua

The third is the dua between the adhaan and the iqamah the dua in the time beweet the adhaan and the iqamah.

Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said the dua is not turn down between the adhaan and the iqamah

And the forth is the dua when the person awakes from sleep

Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said
"Whoever gets up at night and says: -- 'La ilaha il-lallah Wahdahu la Sharika lahu Lahu-l-mulk, waLahu-l-hamd wahuwa 'ala kullishai'in Qadir. Alhamdu lil-lahi wa subhanal-lahi wa la-ilaha il-lal-lah wa-l-lahu akbar wa la hawla Wala Quwata il-la-bil-lah.'
(None has the right to be worshipped but Allah. He is the Only One and has no partners. For Him is the Kingdom and all the praises are due for Him. He is Omnipotent. All the praises are for Allah. All the glories are for Allah. And none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, And Allah is Great And there is neither Might nor Power Except with Allah).
And then says: -- Allahumma, Ighfir li(O Allah! Forgive me). Or invokes (Allah), he will be responded to and if he performs ablution (and prays), his prayer will be accepted." [Saheeh al Bukhari]
The fifth is case is when a Muslim invokes Allaah for his brother in the unseen and in anytime.

Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said There is no believing servant who supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence) that the Angels do not say: The same be for you too. [Saheeh Muslim]

So the one who want his dua to be answered so let him invoke Allaah for his brother so the angel will invoke Allaah for him.

    The sixsth is
The dua of the day of jumma the day of Friday, and the preponderating opinion is that this is after salaathul Asr .

Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: about Friday and said, "There is an hour (opportune time) on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while praying and asks something from Allah, then Allah will definitely meet his demand." And he (the Prophet(sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam pointed out the shortness of that time with his hands. [Saheeh Bukhari]
This brings the end of todays lecture about benefits of dua.

Alhamdulilah Rabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

Re: Point of benefits regarding invoking Allaah, which is known as Dua Invocation.

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem Al-Hamdu lillaahi Rabbil-'Aalameen Wa sall-Allaahu ‘Ala Nabiyyina Muhammadeen Wa ‘Alayhi Wa Asaahabi wa sallam.

In The Name of Allaah The Most Beneficent The Most Merciful, I testify that there is no true God worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad is Allaah’s true slave and Messenger.

This is the third lecture on the point of benefits in dua this will cover the mistakes done while in dua.
The mistakes done while making dua 1st is to have the dua containing or comprising some aspects of shirk in worship like invoking other then Allaah then this is a major shirk. Or involving some kind of invocations of the forbidden type of Tawasul of seeking means of nearness to Allaah by the Prophets or righteous.

The third is to hope for death some people if they are touched by calamity they hope for death rather the correct for them to say is .O Allaah make me live if my living is good for me, take me in death if that is good for me. [Saheeh Muslim]

The forth mistake is the invocation dua to hasten the punishment like for the person to say: O Allaah hastens the punishment upon me in this life so I may be admitted to paradise on the day of resurrection so I may be saved from hell.
In addition, the fifth mistake in dua is to invoke something forbidden or sin like invoking Allah to have such and such person or to make such and such person a drug addict for example or make him die as kaffir.

The sixth mistake is invocating-severing ties of kinship like for example say O Allaah separate such and such from his mother sever the ties of such and such with his mother or his relatives or his wife or her husband and so forth.
The seventh mistake is making dua away of experimentation testing Allaah Azzawajjal like saying I will try and see if Allaah will respond to me or not.

And the eighth mistake is despairing and having lack of certainty regarding Allaah’s answering of the dua. You see from people if they suffer from serious diseases where he or she may think may not be cured. You find them abandoning the dua because of despair and lack of certainty that Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) is able to change the situation
    The ninth mistake is
excessiveness’ in raising the voice in making dua

    The tenth.
Many they do this mistake and say O Allaah I do not ask you to ward off the decreed rather I ask you to make it kind and easy while the correct dua is to ask Allaa to ward off the decreed

    The eleventh mistake
is conditioning the dua on the nasheea the will like for example O Allaa forgive me if you wish if you will O Allaa have mercy upon me if you will or if you wish this is the opposition to having determination and its also an indication of lack of interest because the
Messenger (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said

O Allaah forgive me if you wish let him be deceive concerning his mistake

    The twelve mistakes is
Making dua against oneself or wealth or ones family. And this happens a lot a person might get angry and then will make dua against everyone unintentionally

Messenger (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said do not invoke Allaa upon your self or againt your children nor upon your wealth. least you need an hour where Allaah subhanawataallaah will give and respond to those who will ask him, this is in Saheeh Muslim.
This happens a lot when parents get angry regarding their children when they get angry.

Alhamdulilah Rabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

Re: Point of benefits regarding invoking Allaah, which is known as Dua Invocation.

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem Al Hamdu lillaahi Rabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

In these points of benefits we focus upon what the Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), used most often in the wording of dua and from that is the dua which he Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), used to say often”Allahumma Athina Fi Duniya Hasanah Wa Fi Akherath Hasanathan Wa Kina Adhaban Nar” and this is reported by Anas (radee Allaahu 'anhu) O Allaah give us in this world Hasanah that which is good.and in the hereafter that which is good .and protect us from the punishment of hell fire.

The imam Ibn Kathir rahimahullaah explained the meaning of Hasanah in this world he said “ this comprises every worldly request from well being and spacious house a good wife and of cause a good husband, a righteous son abundant sustenance, good knowledge and righteous deeds so this is comprehensive the term Hasanah this is terms of the Hasanah in this life a good in this life.

And then the second is the Hasaanah in the akherah the good in the hereafter he rahimahullaah said that the greatest reward is the admittance to paradise, and what follows from security from fear and the horrors and the safety the comfort and all of this falls under the category of Hasanah of the hereafter. Moreover, the entrance to paradise is and admittance to Paradise the highest reward in it is seeing Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) face we ask Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) to bestow upon us from His favors.
In addition, the Sheikh Abdur-Rahmaan As Sa’dee, rahimuhullaah said this means safety and security from punishment in the grave and while awaiting the judgment and from hell and also attaining the content of Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala). And attaining the eternal stay the endless bliss in paradise. And in the dua the Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), said “ Wakina Adhaban Nar and protect us from the torment of fire this necessitates making the causes in this life easy in term of abstaining from the unlawful and keeping away from the Shubuhaat the doubtful matters. So the Sheikh continued to say so this dua became therefore Ajmah dua comprehensive dua perfect that is why the Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), used to say it a lot and insight saying it. Also from the dua which he Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam used to say a lot is Yaa Muqallib al-Quluub. Thabbit Qalbi 'ala Deenik.’ O The One Who Turns the hearts. Make my heart steadfast Firm on Your Deen.

So he was asked about this the Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), and he said: there is no from the children of Adam Alyhi Sallam except that his heart is between two fingers of Allaah and whomever He Wishes he will make him firm and upright and whoever He Wishes He leaves him to be mislead. Therefore, the person should seek the help of Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) to stay on guidance and to ask Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) to protect him from deviation. In addition, he also Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), in sighted to say the dua seeking Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) Ya Dhaljalally Walikram O Allaah The One Qualified With Magnificent And Generosity And Goodness. Because this dua involves the perfect praise of Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) and describing Him with the perfect attributes and it is used for an opening for dua so if you open invoction you say for example Ya Dhaljalally Walikram give me such and such and seek your request .so one should try to keep these invocations that our beloved Prophet (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) used often and we should strive to memories them inshAllaa ta aa’la so that one can say them by heart. They are in Hisnul Muslim.
Yaa Muqallib al-Quluub. Thabbit Qalbi 'ala Deenik.’

    Yaa Dhaljallaly Wal-Ikram.

Allahumma Athina Fi-Duniya Hasanah Wa-Fil-Akhirahthi Hasanah Wa-Kina Adhaban Nar.

Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) says: Sûrat Al-Baqarah(The Cow)

And of them there are some who say: "Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!"[2:201]

Alhamdulilah Rabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

Re: Point of benefits regarding invoking Allaah, which is known as Dua Invocation.

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem AlHamdu-lillaahiRabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

We continue the point of Benefits on dua and the point of benefit is how one can gain the precious opportunity in dua .One of the prices in the precious opportunity is, an angel invokes Allaah for you when you invoke Allaah for your brother in islaam

The Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: There is no believing servant who supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence) that the Angels do not say: The same is for you too. [Saheeh Muslim]

Some of the Salaf rahimahullaah when they intended to make dua for themselves they would invoke Allaah for their brothers in accordance of understanding of this dua.

Another precious opportunity the believer looks to sees and it is exemplified in the saying of The Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam): whoever seeks forgiveness of Allaah for the believing men and women Allaah will write for him for each Mumeen and Mumeena a good reward. Imagine the number of rewards the believer will gain from the number of those can you believe in the number of believing man and women dead and alive .

Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) says: Sûrat Ibrâhîm(Abraham)

    "Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established."{14:41}

So in this invocation you are invoking for yourself and for your parents and this goes up for your grandparents your great grand parents and the invocation of the believers all of them. So this is a great opportunity this will be a benefit for a believing men, woman dead and alive and you will receive a reward for each one of them, and you will receive the invocation of the angel who will invoke for you and as invocation is answerable.
In addition, when one make salaam, a greet by the greeting of salaam, does he contemplates that in this way your invoking Allaah to bestow goodness and mercy upon them. And thus for you the same the meaning of salaam is invoking Allaah when you say Asallam the Asallam is one of the names of Allaah your invoking Allaah subhanawa ta aa’al for your brother in Islam that Allaah saves him from the evils of this life and the hereafter then you invoke with Arahama. Allaah bestow upon him mercy in this life and hereafter then after that with blessings bil baraka Allaah bless ,and in his action and his family and his wealth and in all that which Allaah bestows upon him. The more you will do that the more you will have in your account.
If you say Asalaam alykum this is one invocation so you will have ten rewards and if you say Asallam alykum warahmatullah its two invocation you will have twenty rewards and if you complet the sallam saying Asallam Alykum Warahmatullaahi Wabarakatuh you will have thirty rewards as the hadeeth reported by Abu Dawood and At Tirmidhee its is authentic.

When you contemplate this, when you say this angels will say Ameen and for you the same.

The invocation of Prophet Yunus Alyhi Salam, when he was in the belly of the fish he invoked Allaah saying Lâ ilâha illâ Anta Subbhanaka inni –Kunthum –Minal Zalimmin
There is no true God worthy of whorship except You. You are free from All Imperfection Indeed I have been of the ones who wrong themselves, No Muslim invoke to Allaah by this except for by Allaah accepts his Request .As in the narration of at Tirmidhee and Dhun Nun is the Prophet of Allaah Yunus this is stated in Sûrat Al-Anbiyâ’(The Prophets)

    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) says:

And (remember) Dhun-Nûn (Jonah), when he went off in anger, and imagined that We shall not punish him (i.e. the calamities which had befallen him)! But he cried through the darkness (saying): Lâ ilâha illâ Anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O, Allâh)], Glorified (and Exalted) be You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]! Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers."
So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allâh, abstain from evil and work righteousness).[21:87-88]

Why because of this dua comprise in singly Allaah alone in worship and in confessing ones sins and wrongdoing.

Three characteristic of the dua of Dhun-Nun First attesting to Tawheed second attesting to ones defects and Ishtigfar seeking forgiveness therefore is incumbent upon the slave of Allaah if he is touched by calamity or hardship grieve or sorry to invoke Allaah with this dua and to repeat it Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) will open for him and let the dua of Dhun-Nun accompany us

Alhamdulilah Rabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

Re: Point of benefits regarding invoking Allaah, which is known as Dua Invocation.

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem AlHamdu-lillaahiRabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

Some point of benefit on Dua’a invoking other than Allaah if from the Major shirk it is not permissible to ask other then Allaah because Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) is the one who is all able. Anyone else beside Him is unable and the able is the one who responds.

    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) says:

Verily Allah is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will). [22:40]

Therefore, Allaah is the Most Generous The Most Merciful The Beneficent. How could one then abandon? Asking the One qualified with the perfect Attributes of mercy ask the one who is not merciful to himself not to mention others.

    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) says:
Sûrat Fâtir or Al-Malâ’ikah (The Originator of Creation, or The Angels.

Whatever of mercy (i.e. of good), Allâh may grant to humankind, none can withhold it; and whatever He may withhold, none can grant it thereafter. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.[35:2]

And He is the Most near and He is the one free of all wants.

    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) says:
O mankind! it is you who stand in need of Allâh. But Allâh is Rich (Free of all needs), Worthy of all praise.[35:15]

So how would one then turn to the one who is weak like him? Moreover, is in need and ask.

    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) says:
Sûrat Al-A‘râf[The Heights (or The Walls with Elevations) ]

Verily, those whom you call upon besides Allâh are slaves like you. So call upon them and let them answer you if you are truthful.[7:194]

The entire umma with its prophets, its righteous, and its kings and all humankind, and jins and angles. The dead and the living and the shayatan everything and or anyone praise Allaah posses nothing to aviel except by the will of Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala).

    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) says:
    Sûrat Saba’(Sheba)
Say: (O Muhammad sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to polytheists, pagans) "Call upon those whom you assert (to be associate gods) besides Allâh, they possess not even an atom’s (or a small ant’s) weight either in the heavens or on the earth, nor have they any share in either, nor there is for Him any supporter from among them.[34:22]

Therefore, the believer should make him dua’a pure for Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala).

We ask the Most High to make our dua’a sincer for his face and to save us from all form of shirk. Inna hu li yu dhalik fa qadr Alyhi.

Alhamdulilah Rabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

Re: Point of benefits regarding invoking Allaah, which is known as Dua Invocation.

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-RaheemAlHamdu-lillaahiRabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

The points of Benefit are still about dua (Supplication) and it relates to the transgression made during the dua (Supplication).

    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) said:

Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret. He likes not the aggressors. (7:55)

In addition, the Prophet( sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: there will be people who will transgress in their invocations.
And some of the forms of transgression includes requesting that which Allaah subhana wa ta ‘ ala forbid and prohibited for His slaves in this life as in the case when the companions of Musa (alyhi salaam ) ask him to see Allaah subhanahu Wa ta’ala or for someone to seek for children without getting married, this is one form of transgression in dua (Supplication).

The second form is: excessiveness in requesting detailed in the form of the dua Supplication like for example someone may say” Oh Allaah I ask you the white palace to the right of paradise when I will enter it this is transgression in dua in details , if you ask ask Allaah for you to enter the paradise. In addition, from that is the raising ones voice in dua ones voice being very loud in dua. From the benefits of keeping, the dua secret as illustrated by Sheikh Al Islaam Ibn Taiymmiya Rahimahullaah is as follows.

1.Its is a stronger in asserting faith, because the person knows that Allaah hears the invocation the secret one and this is more profound when it comes to sincerity and tranquility and submissiveness.

2.It effects its greater in terms of manners and magnification because here in this life with the kings you don’t raise your voice in front of them, anyone who does this they will hate, and to Allaah subhana wa ta’ala belong the best example. In addition, the point is that it is an indication of the nearness and closeness of the person to be most near Allaah the most high contemplate this is why Allaah subhana wa ta’ala praised his slave Zakariyya. The Prophet Zakariyya Alyhi sallam, When Allaah mentions about him in Sura
    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) said:

When he called out his Lord (Allâh) a call in secret.(19:3)

So when he contemplated, that Allaah subhanawata a’al is closer to him then anything that is close he kept his call in secret to the best of his ability this ends the points of benefit on the matter of transgression in dua’a.

Walhamdu-lillaahiRabbil-'Aalameen Wa Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

Re: Point of benefits regarding invoking Allaah, which is known as Dua Invocation.

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-RaheemAlHamdu-lillaahiRabbil-'Aalameen Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.

We continue discussing Points of Benefit in Du’aa.

Its is from the trail to the believer that he invoke Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) and repeats the invocation and the time proceeds without seeing any effects or effects in the responds or any responds at all.
Hence, he must contemplate certain wisdom regarding this matter first that the delay in the responds is from the tribulation, which required Sabr (Patience).

    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) said:
    Sûrat Al-Anbiyâ’(The Prophets)

Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good. And to Us you will be returned.(21:35)

So the quick responds is from the trail which requires thanks, gratefulness, its requires gratitude, as the delay is from the trails which requires Sabr (Patience)

    The second matter
It maybe that in the occurrence of what is been requested it could be that there is more evil occurring, and so the invoker or the caller maybe responded to and it will be a cause of more evil occurring to him. Alternatively, that it could be a cause, which leads him in to aggression and haughtiness and disdainfulness and thus the delay or the withholding of the responds, would be better for him.

    Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) said
    Sûrat Al-Baqarah(The Cow)

Allâh knows but you do not know. (2:216)

However it is because of ignorance of the person of man and him being unjust to himself, he doesn’t consider favors and well being except that which comes as an enjoyment and hasten enjoyment, and fitting to his nature.

And Imaan Ibn Qayyim (Rahimahullaah) Mentioned:
The decree regarding his slaves is giving although it maybe on the form of withholding, and His decree is a nai3am it’s a favor even though it can be on the form of a trail.

    Third Matter.

The choice of Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) to the slave is better than the choice of the slave to himself. Because to Allaah belongs the most perfect wisdom. He gives only due to wisdom and He withholds only due to wisdom, and He knows that what is beneficial to his slaves more than they do. Moreover, He is most merciful to them, then they are towards themselves.
Sufyaan Ath Thawree (Rahimahullaah) Said: His Withholding is giving, why, because He doesn’t withhold due to misery or that he doesn’t have does not posses, rather He looks for what is good to the slave.

    Forth
From the wisdom is inclusion of the caller with those beloved to Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) because when Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala) loves some of His slaves he tries them, He puts then to test, and from the trails is delaying the responds.

    Fifth

The delay in the responds is a cause for the slave to check himself, and because this could be due to a defect in the caller and it could be that in his sources of sustenance are doubts. Or some kind of negligence’s or rather heedlessness when he invokes or he is indulges rather in some sins, which will be an impendent to the answering of the du’aa. So the delaying in answering the invocation may insight instigate the person to check himself, and check himself and his sustenance with Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala). And thus this may bring tawbah he will seek tawbah, seeking repentance to Allaah(subhaanahu wa ta'aala) and so if the responds is hasten to him he may neglect checking himself and thinks that he on good and guidance and thus may end up being destroyed by this false concept of himself.

    Sixth
It maybe that the call is answered and the person does not know, because when the person invokes Allaah(subhaanahu wa ta'aala)his case with the respect to the du’aa either that his answered or his invocation is saved for him to be given in the here after , or that Allaah(subhaanahu wa ta'aala) wards off and equivalent from the evil, so he shouldn’t therefore think that his invocation was not answered rather he should have a good opinion in Allaah(subhaanahu wa ta'aala) saying that it maybe
    Allaah(subhaanahu wa ta'aala) answered and I don’t know.

    Seventh

It may also be that the invocation is weak and it cannot stand to oppose that testing and the trails.

    The eighth
Is that this bringing a manifestation of humbleness to Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) and the realization that man is poor and in need to Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta'aala).

    Ninth
This brings a greater strive against shaytan (satan) by having a good opinion in Allaah and continuing the du’aa.

These are some of the wisdoms behind this matter of the delay in responds to the du’aa.

    Wallahu ta'aala Allam.

Walhamdu-lillaahiRabbil-'Aalameen Wa Sallallahu Nabiyinah Muhammad Wa Alla Alyhi Wa Sahbyhi Wasallam.
