INSIGHT for new Muslims, non Muslims interested, on fundamentals of Islam.. read on:)

Hi everyone, my name is Jihad Rousan. I was born and raised in America and currently reside in it still.

Over the years I have come close to Islam, closer than many Muslims you see on the street. To the point where I will be classified as ''fundamentalist''.
My closeness to Islam is one that is strange and unknown to the public around me.

My family sees me as strange, every conversation with most Muslims begin with ''Why do you have that beard brother, it's okay if you shave it off.''
While walking down streets, kids call me names. When walking into stores, the people become silent. My own neighbors are afraid of me when I wave to them or say hi to them every day, always waving back looking nervous. Once in a while I receive rude comments. I've had the fbi visit me on occasions, I'm watched and looked as if I'm a crazy man.

The people of America have heard of Islam, or the real Islam (the fundamentals of it) through media, through random arabs at grocery stores, through news websites etc, but never had they been able to get a first hand look at one of those bearded people for themselves. Who has actually gotten a chance to sit down with ONE OF THEM, and talk person to person, who has actually been able to have first hand info to find out what is really going on in their heads?

The answer is very few people.

Over the years, through my experiences in life I have written poems... I react towards things I see, things I deal with and things I feel while living here. I feel that I should give people a chance to get into my head so when you think of one of those ''extremists'' you end up realizing facts rather than misconceptions. The poems I have written are from every angle of life that I see.. from gov, to people, men, women, war, money, family, love, and even apples!! And are very well written.

I may not be a professional writer, but I have had poems receive awards and have had poems published. My father the worst critic of all was silenced by my poem :-) I'm not a professional writer, but I am a professional Muslim and do know how to relay concepts easily through words Alhamduilillah (All praise to God)

There are many people who hate Islam, there are many people who are interested in Islam, and there are many people who have newly converted to Islam.. all of them not having an understanding of life according to a real fundamentalist Muslim. They look at islam through their own lens rather than seeing Islam in it's real setting, so it become more difficult to picture as normal often. You have heard half truths, you have heard lies.. I guarantee that. And whatever you have heard, it's been through your own lens, through your own perspective on how you view life.. meaning it's been translated or converted into a bias view somewhat. For all three categories of people I have just stated, it is important that you find out facts rather than hear things and just believe them. It is important that you have first hand information, true insight. It is important and can only help you out.

I want you to be able to see what I feel about all the issues that you and I both deal with every day. I feel that it's my responsibility to show you that.

I have put together a book of about 25 poems, some a half page in length, some up to two pages in length. This is your opportunity to get a real look, without a buffer, without a translator, without a news agency in between. Read my poems and see how I see it straight to the point.

I guarantee whatever you expect, whether you agree with me or disagree on my points of view, you'll find this a VERY interesting read and you'll FOR SURE benefit from at least seeing the facts straight to the point.

These poems are not to teach religion, and do not give religious rulings whatsoever. Rather they are my thoughts on all aspects of life to show you why I think the way I think and why and how I hate or love certain things.. I want to show you that I SEE what you see, but I may see it differently. I want you to be able to see the differences between us in a more rational tone once and for all.

I guarantee that you won't get another chance like this, so take advantage of it, you will not regret it.

    Thank you for your time!

    OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH yes and also

I wanted everyone to know. I was born and raised in the US. Before 4 years ago I did not know about my islam. I was not taught it. I didn't even know I should pray. I lived the life of a non Muslim and I was a crazy one.

So I do see what a lot of people see that convert, that's why I think my poems would help - because I can translate from that life to the new islamic life better than most people because of my experience and because of where I am now

Re: INSIGHT for new Muslims, non Muslims interested, on fundamentals of Islam.. read

I thought I'd give a few quotes from the book.. But it's so diverse, so many different styles!
I'll give a few short pieces, but to find out the morals to the stories you have to read the whole poem :-p

I’m shy to look in her eyes,
    It's so, difficult,
Not to be caught by surprise,
Every time it makes me feel so, hypocritical,
    So my pupils, tip toe,

    another

.....Little did he know he reaps what he’d sewn,
So now all he owns is old jeans filled with holes and old dreams filled in holes
    Buried not to be sewn,
Mentally deceased the old man fought for nothing but the disease of the dolla,
And as he begs for coins on the streets ...
A young blonde teen drops a couple of quarters into the Styrofoam mug yelling (holla!)
Going to school aspirating dreams of becoming a model
    Cause daddy's a doctor,
And mama blessed her with genes that make her legs make grown men dream like hitting the lotto,
"Live life at full throttle" that was her motto....

    one more hmmm

What happened to right from wrong,
Or before that, fact from fiction?
They take evidence to claim magic definitions,
In the new world truth is just opinion,
Because opinion is a means to easy living,
Because when God says "do it"- but doing it means losing luxury,
You'd hear them become near clueless yelling "god who? I want everything under me "
Now scientific facts like the big bang can’t be denied
So a reply would be "In my opinion god's a lie to me"
Or "keep your God, I'll practice my belief"

ok THAT'S IT FOR NOW. I didn't want to do this because you can't get a real understanding of it till you read it fully :-) let me know what you think if you buy it 7.99
