    Salaams to all

Reading through various threads posted over the time I have come to notice certain comments on the difficulties faced by new converts/reverts. It is not that these matters are not faced by those born into the religion, but it is more apparent for those new to the faith.

I don’t know how to say it in a concise way, but just to give some support to those who find themselves alone, it is not that Allah has deserted you, but for you to perhaps consider the possibility that just because you have embraced Islam does not mean that your troubles will melt away to be replaced by glorious joy and good moments.

I read many positive comments on the Quran and how it has made people choose Islam over others be it is as a result of disillusionment in the faith they believed in before or the beauty they see in the Quran itself.

It is easy to feel that by entering the religion and practicing its way to be a fresh start to life. So there are those who, after embracing Islam, feel the immediate joy and/or peace, but eventually gives way to the feeling of going against the flow of the outside world.

Worst still, for those after going through some problems in life who finds Islam as their savior and is spiritually uplifted but the worldly problems still persist, perhaps over time gets worse as their ‘support group’ deserts them and find themselves alone. .

Just remember that Islam is still that beautiful thing you read and discovered and that by embracing Islam does not mean that all your worldly problems will disappear. It will still be there and it still has to be dealt with. In addition, embracing the new religion may add to your worldly problems by having friends/family distancing themselves, the changes in lifestyle you may/will have to make etc. But if you are prepared for it and realize this, hopefully you will be better prepared to accept the adversities that will/may come your way.

So know that the 'spiritual' aspect and the 'worldly' aspects are two different things and it is the worldly aspect that has an impact on most of us. Be aware on where your frustrations are, spiritual or worldly.

Wishing all reverts a fulfilling journey ahead (and born muslims too!)

    Peace

(Reading this again, it seems a bit like some ramblings.... but I feel something must be said on this, perhaps other members can say it in a more beautiful way (if they get my meaning)).
