    Prayer tips please (women)

    Report bad ads?

My abaya always gets stuck under my knees and/or feet when praying. So when I try to stand up, I feel like a very awkward and clumsy person and it interrupts my concentration. I also don't know if it disturbs anyone next to me. Does this happen to anyone else? The other women get up and down with ease and I'm just fumbling around.

Secondly, I don't speak arabic. I am attempting to learn it via videos and duolingo app but I don't have anyone else to share language with so my learning is a bit slow. I will probably get a language sharing app in the future. My question is this. If I do not know Arabic but must pray is it okay if it's only 1/3 in arabic and the rest in English?

Third, men pray in public. What about women? Seems unusual but what if a woman is busy outside the home, maybe at a park or something, could a woman pray wherever she is?

Men and women both take cloth on knees before sajdah and rise them a little bit so when you get up it does not get to tear.
Practice a little bit that motion.

Praying has its steps. It is best learnt by teachers, sa in mosques. I think in UK it is a lot, lot easier than in US. Alot more masjids, jamahs, educations courses an so on. Prayer has its steps for new muslims, so that it is easy for everyone. Regarding Arabic, yes it is so good to learn it, but many learn only Arabic script, so that they can memoriae shorter readings in prayer/namaz/salat.
You can pray duas/supplications in every language, even without spoken words. Allah knows everything.

It is probably not that easy in US in parks/public places. UK is different. I do not know personally, but had heard some narrations about US parks, about some paychiatrists on education etc.
You can join prayers in some opinions dhuhr and asr and magheb and isha, especially in hardship.
narrated by Muslim (705) from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) joined Zuhr and ‘Asr, and Maghrib and ‘Isha’, in Madeenah when there was no fear and no rain. According to the hadeeth of Wakee’ he said: I said to Ibn ‘Abbaas: Why did he do that? He said: So that his ummah would not be subjected to hardship, i.e., so that they would not face any difficulty.

Maybe it is best praying close doors. Ask local muslims and imams in mosques for tips.

Try to read morning and evening duas (you have transliteration in begunnings) and to have a mornings and evenings wirid of kalima tamjid, salawat andcestegfar.

There are a few mosques where I live but are far from me. I know of one that offers classes, I need to look into that option again and try to start from scratch. I wish we had more primary schools for Muslim children without charge as well. This would be a huge help, there is a lot of difficulty in being a convert who knows very little while also trying to teach and answer question to small children at home in the short amount of time we have together between work and school. I'm not afraid to pray publicly. I know that cruelty and ignorance exists but I always hope that it will give someone the opportunity to ask a question, to be inspired or even just to be curious about something they new nothing or little about.

    Assalamu Alaikum

The answer is literally there, sister. If you see other woman not having any issues with what you are struggling with. Why not approach them and ask them how they do the magic that you just cant seem to have figured out yet.

Secondly, I don't speak arabic. I am attempting to learn it via videos and duolingo app but I don't have anyone else to share language with so my learning is a bit slow. There is absolutely no loss in rewards. As is evident from the first Hadeeth of bukhari that rewards are based on the intention, not the action itself necessarily.

Since you are already attempting to learn it, thats good Mash Allah.
Also, you can memorize the Arabic without knowing how to speak the language. Duolingo is more about colloquial Arabic then Quranic Arabic so things vary.
Just listen to to again and again and speak it on top of it. Learn the essential phrases of Salah and Fatiha this way for now.

And I have no experience regarding the last as I am not from the west so I cant speak on it.
    May Allah bless you.

    Regards,
    MUSLiMX
