can someone advise me if its ok to stay in prostration atall and is there any duas that are recommended if so. I just feel like i want to stay in prostration to our Magnificent Creator, but not sure if its ok. I heard that some angels are in constant prostration, it makes me feel like I am really giving myself to Allah.
"O ye who belive! Endure, outdo all others in endurance, be ready, and observe your duty to Allah, in order that you may succeed"
The Prophet said to his wife Umm Salma, " Bring me the Khumra from the mosque." The word Khumra means a small piece of chatai made from palm leaf, on which only the head could be rested when prostrating. lbn-Athir, in his Jami-al-Usool has written, "Khumra is the Sajdagah (Persian word meaning "prostration place") upon which the Shias of our time perform their prostrations."
If needed I have another hadeeth I can provide, just ask insh'Allah.
I had once read on IslamQA.com that prostration becomes biddah if its done for no reason. It said that prostration is only allowed in the following situations :
1. In Salaah
2. Sajdat tilaawah (prostration when reading Qur’aan) when you come across those ayats that require prostration.
3. Sujood ul-sahw (prostration for forgetfulness)
4. Sajdat shukr (prostration of gratitude)
Any other prostration offered would be considered biddah.
If Allah helps you, none can overcome you; and if He forsakes you, who is there after Him that can help you? And in Allah (Alone) let believers put their trust.
Surah Ale Imran : 160
It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:
The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) climbed up Uhud, accompanied by Abu Bakr, ‘Umar and ‘Uthmaan, and the mountain shook with them. He struck it with his foot and said: “Stand firm, O Uhud, for there is no one on you but a Prophet or a Siddeeq or two martyrs.”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3483)
Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Taala) does not inspire seeking forgiveness in a slave whom he wishes to punish.
Thanks for the responses brothjers. Although im still confused, is it that any prolonged prostration is wrong ? I ment during the last prostration really and not an extra one, I think that it is probably wrong from your posts but could do with further clarification as it feels loke it should be ok. Thanks for patience

For all I know it's not wrong at all. I read somewhere that someone said (I'm so sorry I can't say more exact, and it might have been Mohammed, s.a.w., himself who said it, but it was along time ago and I can't remember, astaghfirullah) that you are closest to Allah subhana wa ta'ala while prostrating, and if we only knew and thought about how close we were to him, we would never get up from prostration. As I understand it, it's the perfect time for du'as and asking for things and for forgiveness, coz you can never get closer. If I'm wrong, someone pls correct me.
Edit: And if you like a particular one and you want me to transliterate it for you (I'm not sure whether you can read arabic or not) I will do so InshaAllaah.
O Allaah, forgive me all of my sins, the smaal and great of them, the first and last of them, and the seen and hidden of them.’
O Allaah, unto You I have prostrated and in You I have believed, and unto You I have submitted. My face has prostrated before He Who created it and fashioned it, and brought forth its faculties of hearing and seeing. Blessed is Allaah, the Best of creators.’
Thank you so much for your reply, if its ok could you make this into transliteration please. May Allah bless you for you guidance sister, ameen
