    Statements by most Muslims

    Report bad ads?

Brothers & Sisters, how are you all today?

I've always receive excuses about not performing salat such as

    1.I have not hit puberty

2.My Parents are responsible for my sins until I hit puberty

Come on! Is this all true?

Another thing I need to know is, is there any benefit of cutting finger nails during Friday or any specific date? Why do people bury them into the ground? If so, what dua should be make when it is buried into the ground?

    Nephew, I am fine, Alhamdulillah.

    1.I have not hit puberty

    1. Do not wait until you hit puberty for performing salat.

    2. If you think your parents bear your sins, you are wrong.
"That no laden one shall bear another's load"
    (An Najm :38)
Your parents do not bear your sins. But they have responsibility about 'how you are' and 'what you do'.
    Notice this hadith :
"Every kid born in fitrah, but the parents make him/her becomes Jews, Nashara or Majusi".
    (Narrated by Abu Hurairah)
Every kid born like a clean white paper, and the parents have big role in writing something on this 'paper'. Teach Islam is obligation of all Muslim parents to their kids. If the kids are far from Islam and walk on the wrong way because the parents never teach Islam to them and never guide them to the right way, this is the parent's fault.

Another thing I need to know is, is there any benefit of cutting finger nails during Friday or any specific date? Why do people bury them into the ground? If so, what dua should be make when it is buried into the ground?
I never heard about it. But, Insha Allah, other members can give you an answer.

Okay Nabiel, give my best regard to you parents and your ustadz.

    Ok brother, thanks!

But if it's the parent's fault, wouldn't they both be sinning?

Just a side note, the nail-cutting tradition is also practiced in Indonesia.

They both be sinning. But I think I must give you a further explanation.

Stealing is a sin. isn't it ?. If a kid stole something, the parents do not bear sin from this stealing, but they be sinning because they cannot guide, teach, and watch their kid, and causing this kid steal something.

In other region/province maybe. I live in West Java province.

By the way, someone told me I made myself look old because I call you "nephew".

Okay, you are around 13-14 yrs old, aren't you ?. Actually, you can be a friend of my oldest son. He is 12.

    Okay, okay, Young Padawan.

There is sunnah about cutting nails and shaving mustache in Friday, but it's not becomes a tradition in my place. But maybe it becomes tradition in "Pesantren".

Do you know Pesantren ?. In your place it named "Sekolah Pondok".
