I have more confusing questions haha! Just read something online on qiyaam al Layl which says that it's different to Tahajjud - as in, Tahajjud is getting up for salah after sleeping - and qiyaam al Layl is doing any dhikr, salah, reading Quran etc for at least an hour at any part of the night.
Is this true? What I originally thought was that Tahajjud is better but you can offer salah like Tahajjud for Qiyaam al Layl and it's still good.
I was offering my salah for qiyaam al layl after Isha'a this past week because of exams (needing the extra sleep).. but now that I read this I'm confused! Should I stick to offering Tahajjud instead? Considering I already read Quran at night anyway, won't that be counted as my Qiyaam.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is, what is the real difference? Is it a difference in reward?
It is my pleasure to refer to the above topic by one of our Sisters on the Forum, on Sallat Tahajjud.... Qiyamul-layl... and invite her attention to the attached booklet on this particular subject. I hope she finds time to go through this work, as it certainly answers her question(s) on what is Qiyamul-Layl, its excellence, virtues and secrets.
