    Report bad ads?

    Salam.
The story about the women who lived near the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) and she used to throw garbage at him.
Is this in a hadith? Where is it documented?
    Jazakallah khair.

Whenever the story is quoted, its never provided with a source.

I know its famous, but no-one ever gives a source, so we need to ask for that.

    Re: Is the story true?

    Asalaamu Alaikum,

    It's unsourced.

Hadith of woman garbage on prophet(saws)

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Respected Sister in Islam, although the record of this particular incident is found in almost all the books of ‘Seerah’ or biography of the Prophet (saws) and is oft-repeated by the muslims, to the best of our knowledge there is no record of this specific incident in any of the authentic and established Books of Sunnah. And Allah Alone Knows Best.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 68 Surah Qalam verses 3-4:

3 Nay verily for thee (O Mohamed (saws)) is a Reward unfailing:
4 And thou (O Prophet (saws) stands) on an exalted standard of character.

If someone has invented and concocted the incident from themselves and attributed it to the Prophet (saws), they shall have their due from their Lord on the Day of Judgment; and if the incident is indeed true, then it is well within the exalted standard of character of the Noble Prophet of Allah (saws).

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

    Burhan

And is this hadith true ?

Someone will be in front of Allah (SWT) for his jugment. He will see a mountain of his sins, he will scared. Then an angel will come with many "Hassanet" good deeds. Because all the day this person remembers Allah (SWT), thanked HIM.

I hope you understand what i mean.

    Re: Is the story true?

    As'alaam Alaikkum

Isn't this the wife of the Prophet's uncle Abu Lahab? Hence the surah Al-Masad?

    Muhsin Khan
Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he!
His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him!
He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames!
And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him) .
In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre).

    Allahu Alum!

I found the answer to your question on seekersguidance website. They have a very detailed answer to this, so read it and you will be satisfied. It doesn't come from a specific Hadith, but it comes from some less authentic stories in the Seerahs. It definitely is an oft-repeated tale mentioned through the generations. Even I have heard this story told many times.

    Re: Is the story true?

I have to say that people who retell a hadith without researching if it is true or not are also at fault.

If someone tells me a hadith I always ask first where it comes from: Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, etc. If they don't know, I advise them to research the Hadith first before telling it to people.
