    Explanation for Quranic Verses?

    Report bad ads?

    Assalam Alaikum,

    I am looking for explanation (tafsir) of Quranic verses:

    1- Surah Naziat (27-30):

    "Are you the harder to create or the heaven? He made it. He raised the height thereof and ordered it; And He made dark its night and brought out its light."

    My Questions: What is meant by heaven here? Our universe or all the 7 universes? If it is our universe then what does Allah (swt) mean when He says that He has made dark its night and brought out its light? We know that the universe on its own is black and dark. Only stars, explosions etc bring light in a rather dark universe. And even this light is not enough to overcome the all-pervading darkness of the cosmos.

    Re: Explanation for Quranic Verses?

    Assalamualaikum,
    Brother the first thing to understand is that the purpose of the Qur'an is not to teach science. Its purpose is to guide us so that we may protect ourselves from the Fire by obeying Allah and His Messenger(s.a.w.). In light of this, what the verses are talking about is this:
    The Kuffar used to wonder how all the humans to ever live would be brought back to life, as Allah has promised so many times. In response to this, Allah says, in the form of a question, that the creation of the Sky is greater than the creation of humans. In other words, if Allah can create the vast universe, then He can surely re-create humans.

    As far as the "scientific" meaning to these Ayaat is considered, I tried thinking about it but I could not figure out how to relate them to the science that we know. As such, since Rasulullah(s.a.w.) did not explain them from a scientific perspective, I think it would be a waste of my time to spend time on that. Had it been important for me to understand the scientific meaning underlying the Ayaat for me to be saved from the Fire, Rasulullah(s.a.w.) would have explained them in such a way. Since he didn't, it would be irrelevant for me to delve more into this issue.

    Wassalam

    highly possible the meaning to be the the lower heaven.... but that is not important to understand what you quest..

    He made dark its night:

    what is night(layl) on Earth or other planets? it is the absence of sunlight on a part of Earth, isn't it?

    brought out its light(Doha):

    what is (Doha)? it is the experience of light of the sun while rising, such experience is not only on Earth but other planets whether known or yet to be discovered.

    the verse simply talks about the night experience anywhere in any planet...and the experience of such light comes from external body on any planet .....

    Regards
