How to memorize the Holy Quran

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi brothers and sisters in Islam. Many muslims try to memorize Quran and they often ask questions like what is the easiest way or what are the techniques to memorize Quran. InshAllah, I ´ll share with you some of the best ways for memorization:

    1. The best time to memorize the Quran is after Fajr prayer
After Fajr your mind is fresh , you don´t have any conserns so it˙s very good to record the Quran in your head. This morning recitation will be your energy for the whole day.

    2. Find a place for recitation
When you are memorizing the Quran make sure that you have a place where you can read lauder because you can hear mistakes that you make and correct yourself. Also, other people around can listen your recitation and help you to memorize properly.

    3. Make Dua to Allah and trust in Him
Like everything else in this religion about seeking knowledge, the Quran is a form of knowledge that Allah grants to whom He wills. It´s not something you can inherit, download, or buy. It´s a gift from Allah.
Before and after recitation make this dua to Allah:
Rabbi zidni ilma - O my Lord! Advance me in Knowledge [surah Ta-Ha; 20:114]

    4. Understand Quran
If you don´t know Arabic laguange try to read translation. The large number of surah have a story and if you are reading translation you can connect verses and it´s easier to memorize this way.

One of the methods to hifz Quran:

First: Read the verse ten times, then repeated to yourself. If you have problem with one word, read that word five times and repeat the whole verse again.

Second: Read next verse ten times

Third: Read first and second verse three times together and repeated to yourself Then third, fourth untill the end of the page.

This is something what scholars called „short-term memorization“, you might lost few verses in couple of weeks but don´t worry.
To convert this to „long-term memorization“ open the page you want to memorize and read it 20 times. It will stick into your head insAllah. That is because if you read it 20 times your eyes will take a photocopy of that page like photographic memory and you will never forget it insAllah.
