memrizing the quran by self- is it possible?

I feel like it is not possible to memoriz the quran on your own, that you need a teacher. What if you dont have a teacher or the means? Is it possible to memorize the quran by self. What about tajweed? I have heard of ways to memorize the quran through listening to a quran recitor,
of course ensuring to avoid making tajweed mistakes as you go but even then- is it possible?

If you don't have a teacher why not get an online tutor? They can teach you over Skype/video call, much better alternative then learning by yourself .

I, in example, prefer to seek answers for particular questions and thus memorize natural way, google helps a lot
Think it's better when every Verse in the mind connected with the solutions, not just being recorded like on the computer's disk.
Just my own way to learn in general.

Been trying to learn in order, verse after verse, simply don't work for me. I think without internet i would be the dumbest student)
May be it also because big language difference from original, ie translations of Quran from different sources looks very different.

It is definitely possible. I personally have memorized around 13 ajzaa' on my own through listening to online Qur’aan recitors. Of course you must learn how to recite with proper tajweed first and I think that requires having a teacher.

Also, a lot of people find it easier starting with juzz amm (30) and then starting from the very beginning of the Qur’aan because you've already learned how to pronounce most of the words by then.

It is possible to memorize the Qur'an alone, e.g. from on-line resources, from it would be very difficult to master tajweed without a teacher to listen and correct you.

In my opinion, I have found the best to learn the quran from someone whether that would be face to face or skype. You need someone to correct your mistakes, and teach you the correct way the first time around. Its so hard to get rid of mistakes when you have been reading it like that for a long time, so the best advice is to find someone inshaa allah.

Re: memrizing the quran by self- is it possible?

It's useful to have a real human teacher and also possible to learn via recordings, here's my daughter trying, you'll notice i had to make her replay some verses when she made mistakes and thought she had it right, however it shouldn't be as difficult for adults, especially if you download the qiraat of various master reciters. Useful to bear in mind that we try and learn what we can based upon our circumstances and abilities, if you know a bit and don't have anyone to teach you or any audio recordings, you still have a duty to try, the early Muslims were learning in various dialects until it was standardised due to the changing of meanings, that still doesn't prevent us from reading translations (which can never fully capture the texture) when we don't understand Arabic does it?
