Before we talk about the websites where you can read/recite the Quran online let’s talk about the effects and benefits of recitation of the Quran can have on one.
The Holy Quran is a set of commandments and instructions revealed upon the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to guide us, humans, into absolution. It contains the direct words of God; hence it is very sacred and is exemplary in its meaning.If someone wants to connect with Allah Almighty by heart then firstly he/she should connect with the words of Allah, the Glorious Quran in a way that directly impacts the heart, because it’s the heart that believes in Allah Almighty. The Quran has a refreshing, uplifting and revitalizing effect on a person who believes in Allah and wants to become closer to Him. Allah, Himself talks about the Quran in the following words: “Then do they not reflect upon the Quran? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.” (Quran: 4:82).
Apart from religious benefits such as rewards, there are other blessings of reading the Quran regularly. One such benefit is it relieves stress and anxiety. It is said that the recitation of the Holy Quran is the best cure for issues like stress and anxiety. In the case you are stressed over something, the simple tip here would be to recite the Holy Quran or just listen to it. You can find the Quran online on the internet, listen to it and it will relax your mind and heart, this way it will lower down your stress levels. Moreover, the Quran relieves one of their fluctuating heart rates. Cardiac problems are very serious but reading the Quran can relieve one of such problems.
When we talk about the rewards of reciting the Quran, they are numerous. Quran establishes a link between a person and Allah. It rids a person of all negative thoughts and restores peace to one’s existence.
Holy Prophet (PBUH) emphasized the daily reading of the Quran in the following words:“And when He (Prophet) recited the verses which referred to the Glory of Allah, He glorified Him, the Great, and when He recited the verses that mention supplication, He supplicated, and when He recited the Verses that mention seeking Refuge of the Rabb He sought (His) refuge”(Muslim).
Quran will act as an intercessor on the Day of Judgment, it will guide us to Paradise.
The beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Read the Quran, for indeed it will come on the Day of Standing (Judgment) as an intercessor for its companions.” (Muslim)

Quran.com is one of the websites that provide free Quran for reading online. They have a very simple interface. When you open the website, all the Surahs’ (chapters) are listed on the main page. You can select the Surah you want to read and it’ll take you to that page with the Surah. The Surah is divided into “Ayahs” and is presented along with its translation in English. Apart from the translation, you get the option to listen to the ayah and share it with different social platforms such as Facebook, etc. Furthermore, you can read the “Tafsir” and switch to translation in other languages as well.Quran.com also has a beta version that looks very exciting as it breaks down each word with its meanings.
Tanzil.net is another website that provides free Quran online for reading. There’s a slight glitch with the site, that you don’t land on its main page. But one can easily navigate to any chapter using the menus located on the sidebar. It has many options that can be used to enhance your viewing such as translation on hover, leaving you to read the Quran in Arabic without much obtrusion on-screen. The additional resources that are available at tanzil.com are excellent too, you can download the entire Quran in Arabic with Translations in many languages and Symbols in a variety of formats including MySQL and XML.
This is another website that gives users free access to the Quran. Its main page is the beginning of the Quran i.e. Surah Fatiha, it has two columns on its page one with the Arabic text and the other with translation in your selected language, side by side. You can listen to online recitation of the Quran; it has recitations from many Muslim scholars. You can select whom you want to listen to and enjoy. It also the features of changing the font, zooming in and out and printing the text.
This website is just how the name indicates. You can listen to the Quran while you read it online by just selecting the reciter and the Surah and your all set. There are many languages in which you can select from. This website has a very easy to operate interface, very user-friendly.
Quran flash is another remarkable site for reading Quran online. You can also download Quran free for both Windows and Mac. They have several attractive features, to quote the website’s description “The user can interact with each verse separately and access functions such as audio listening, interpretation, translations, transliteration, textual copying, bookmarking, commenting, sharing, and highlighting. This version of Quranflash features a powerful zooming function, very practical, comparing to the previous function. It is synchronized with the user’s Facebook account, to keep all bookmarks, highlights, etc., accessible from anywhere. It also features an innovative page-by-page audio recitation function, coupled with the page layouts, with automatic navigation. This feature provides a point-to-point looping function to help with Quran memorization.”The main page opens to their collection of several prints of The Holy Quran. You can read them online or download them.
This website is very similar to Quran.com. You can access the Holy book chapter by chapter or by Juz. Once you select your Surah you can start reading it. Once you open the Surah you want to read, you can adjust the font, change the translation language or view the whole surah or break it up into Ayahs according to your preference. Also, you can listen to the recitation while reading the Quran online.
This is another website that allows users free access to Quran online. It provides its users with several options to select from. One can recite the Quran, read its translation in English or Urdu, read its Tafsir in English or Urdu or listen and read Hadith online.Moreover, it provides the Quran’s translation in other languages as well. And Tafsir by several scholars, such as Nouman Ali Khan.
This is yet another website that offers free online Quran. It has a pretty straightforward interface and lacks the detailed features that the other above mentioned sites provide. You just select the Chapter and the verse and it will lead you to the corresponding page. You can read Quran online for free in just a few clicks.
10. AL-QURAN
This is the last website on my list from where you can read Quran online. You can read Quran online on a simple interface with translation and transliteration. You just have to select the Surah and just read. This site is also mobile-friendly. It doesn’t require a sign up like most of the websites in this article.
On a concluding note, reading Quran is a necessity for all Muslims, and the best and easiest way to do so is through the internet. You can without difficulty find any print of the Quran to read online with translations and explanations in a wide range of languages

JazakAllah I have been using Quran.com since before I accepted Islam. I found Tanzil.net a few months ago and found both sites very helpful Alhamdulillah
