As-Salaam alaikum,
In verse/ayat 163 of Surat Baqra of the Holy Qur'an, Allah Ta'ala says:--
''And your God is One God:
There is no god but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful'' (2:163)
On this particular verse, in his book,'Kashf al-asrar wa Uddat al-abrar (The unveiling of the secrets and the Provisions of the Pious)',
Sheikh Rashid al-Din Maybudi, may Allah be Merciful to him, observed:-
''Other than He (Allah) there is no Lord, and other than He there is none worthy
of worship, for no one caresses and bestows bounty like Him. He is the All-Merciful
who gives when we ask Him, and He is the Ever-Merciful who becomes angry when
we do not ask. A report in hadith has come, ''When someone does not ask from Allah,
Allah becomes wrathful toward him.''
Allah is the All-Merciful who accepts the servants' obedience, even if it is little, and
He is Ever-Merciful who forgives their disobedient acts even if they are great.''
