Is there any English translation of this poem?

SubhanAllaah, I didn't know it was that long! I was thinking it's similar to al-Jazariyyah in length.

A question: Can some expalin what exactly we mean when we say for example, a certain qira'ah min tareeq ash-Shaatibi ? I mean, was ash-Shatibi a preserver of all the Qira'aat or..?

That the qira'ah is from the tareeq of Imaam Ash-Shaatibi and not from the other turuq (ways). He ws a transmitter and the Shaatibiyyah is the most well-known. Does that make sense?

    Re: Ash-Shatibiyyah (الشاطبي)

Ok, lemme see if I understand it...

There are 10 different qira'aat which have been preserved.

Imaam ash-Shaatibi learnt some/all (?) of these qira'aat, and from him people learnt and it was passed down to successive generations until it reached us today, and this is what is known tareeq ash-Shatibiyyah?

    Re: Ash-Shatibiyyah (الشاطبي)

    There are 10 Qira'aat, sa7.

7 of the 10 Qira'aat are narrated from the tareeq of Shaatibiyyah (and these 7 are the most commonly used). The Imaam must have atleast known 7 Qira'aat for he had trasmitted these amount wallaahu'3llam. And it has reached our generation yes.

If someone had memorised the other 3 Qira'at from Ad-Durrah then it would be said 'min tareeq Ad-Durrah', make sense now?

    Wabillaahi tawfeeq.
