This thread is intended to list all the important reasons you personally think its important to seek (Islamic) knowledge. List your reasons and justifications.
I'll start off:
-its important so that we know how to worship allah.
...desperate for husnul-khitaam...
please make dua that Allah grants me a good end (to my life). please make dua that Allah guides me.
so that angles , fishes and birds make dua for us and we can enter paradise
The Messenger of Allaah - sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam - said: "He who treads a path in search of knowledge Allaah will direct him to tread a path from the paths of Paradise. The Angels lower their wings for the student of knowledge in approval of what he does. All in the heavens and earth and the fish in the depth of the water seek forgiveness for the scholar, and the superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like the superiority of the full moon at night over the rest of the stars. Verily the scholars are the heirs to the Prophets.

Christ will never be proud to reject to be a slave to God .....holy Quran, chapter Women , 4: 172
The Prophet (saw) said: "Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim"
Today unfortunately we see many Muslims who when it comes to their education, work or even entertainment they would gain a lot of knowledge regarding these areas, however when it comes to the Deen they have very little.so we should seek knowledge about Islam thoroughly.
Important so we don't follow blindly our forefather who may or may not be rightly guided.

YUSUFALI: The chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if Allah had wished (to send messengers), He could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old."

YUSUFALI: Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: "If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos." So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: "Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie."
