I asked Anas, "What kind of clothes was most beloved to the Prophet?" He replied, "The Hibra (a kind of Yemenese cloth). 7.704:
703. Narrated Anas bin Malik
The most beloved garment to the Prophet to wear was the Hibra (a kind of Yemenese cloth).
705. Narrated `Aisha
(the wife of the Prophet) When Allah's Apostle died, he was covered with a Hibra Burd (green square decorated garment).
Does anyone know if this type of cloth is still in use? are there any Yemeni brothers/sisters @ IB that can describe to us more regarding this garment. perhaps brother Qatada can help us.
