I went to two partys so far which included of muslim girls and not one of them prayed and i was so upset and shocked cos i was the only one and i felt lonely in a way.. what is happening to people. The first the i asked them but they had reasons which i wont mention and some just couldnt be bothered to,
second time they all started mocking me when it came to order food by saying 'dont worry its halal see it says HALAL' and when i was eating something they said 'its haram its got this in it' etc i just laughed it off cos i didnt wnt to spoil their party. However I must say i felt like im some sort of 'extremist' and that i was doing something over the top when i was onky following basic rules of islam!!! Do I stop socialising with these friends?? They are nice and I do send them religious messages often..

To be honest the part where they said the food was Halal but actually it wasn't that really , if that was me i would of knocked him out for being such a grrrrrrrrrrrr. A sister once told me that the company u keep reflects you as a person.......therefore i think its best not to socialise with them too much perhaps only in school but if they gonna act like this then best not to socialise with them at all if they mock you for following your religion.

If they are not practicing sisters then I'm afraid these are the responses you will get from them.
I knew brothers like this but I cut them off for my own benefit. Why? Well I was the only one practicing and they were all too Westernised. They never prayed Salaat and they were too much into the dunya life. I felt that I would succumb to them and stop praying myself. It's easy to get distracted and Shaitan is always there for you to make the mistake and before you know it; you have stopped praying Salaat.
While I left these bunch of brothers I knew other brothers who were on the right path and Al-Hum-Du-Lillah these are the brothers I associate with. I have totally forgotten about the other brothers. Still see them around, give them Dawah and do dua for them.
To sum it up we should take a look at the people with whom we spend our time with. Are they people who are better than us, who can pull us up, inspire us to be better Muslims and members of humanity? Or do they pull us down, and pressure us to leave the commands of Allah and fall into actions and states that deaden our hearts and lead us away from the pleasure and reward of Allah?
If they do not want to pray then that is between them and God. What they did to you with the food is disrespectful to you. It doesn't sound like something a friend would do. These do not sound like friends at all. It doesn't sound liek you can trust them at all. Even if someone does not follow the same beliefs as you, or observe at the same level as you, if they are a true friend they will be respectful of you and your beliefs. I would never in a million years think of inviting a muslim over to my home and then serve them things that are not halal-- friend or not. I'd look for new friends if I were you, and pray for the ones you currently have.

my sister save yourself from these people for they are not good for your imaan. The influence of our friends rub off on us and if you continuously keep these sisters as friends then eventually their influence will rub off on you. There influence is not good on you at all in that you feel like an extrmist in their company and that is because you have concern over your imaan whereas they do not.
Sister find pious and practising sisters to meet with so that you can help each other increase each others imaan by talking about Islam and learning about deen together and attending sisters talks, halaqas and activities.
By hanging around with the people you hang around with is not doing any favours for your imaan at all but in fact putting it at risk because the topics they will talk about would rarely ever be about Islam and it is said that those gatherings which do not include the mention or the remembrance of Allah will be at GREAT loss on the day of judgement.
Therefore be with sisters who are likeminded and have fear and concern over their imaan like you do and not with those who are heedless and have no concern over their purpose in this life. May Allah guide them inshallah but you have to worry about your own imaan and NEVER comprimise it therefore you should leave this crowd immediatley because in islam the TRUE friend is who will lead you towards Jannah and the bad friend is the one who will lead you towards destruction.
Continue to send them one Islamic reminder text a week and an Islamic e mail sometimes too. Whenever you see them invite them towards Allah in a beautiful manner and if they become bitter about you moving away from them then they would have shown their true colours but ignore them and continue to stand strong because you have Allah by your side so please him as much as you can and remember and glorify him day and night.
Also sister in regards to "so called halal food" we have to be very careful about what we eat. Most chicken in this country has been stunned and therefore resulting in the chicken being either severely brain damaged or dead before slaughter and one of the rules for Islamic slaughter is that the animal should be in good healthy condition prior to slaughter and with stunned chicken it is very uncertain how many chickens actually die from stunning before slaughter.
Many slaughter houses also think it is sufficient to have "Bismillah" playing on a tape player in the background and think that this is sufficient when slaughtering an animal.
Many also have "Bismillah" written on a knife or a saw and think that this is also sufficient when slaughtering an animal. These practices are contrary to Islamic slaughter and currently there is only one Islamic food authority that actively send monitors to these slaugter houses to ensure that proper Islamic methods of slaughter are being used and that is a company called HMC. This company is a God send and are very active in sending out inspectors and monitors to inspect all premises that they certify in the UK.
No other so called halal food agency does that. One of the worst of all are HFA or in other words Haram food authority who have NO checks or inspectors or monitors but will stamp the halal stamp anyway. So stick with eating chicken from places that is certified by HMC or at least ask if the chicken they buy is stunned or not because it is our duty as Muslims to ensure that what goes in our stomachs is halal otherwise we risk rejection of our dua's and good deeds by pollution of haraam in our bodys from haraam food. We must take care in this respect.

I think I didnt explain one part good enough, what i meant was i knew it was halal as i have got food from there before but the fact they were making in to a joke wasnt funny! Also thank u Hamza brother for those links and the great advice especially about slaughtering, i've heard this before, people get lazy and dont bother checking.
Also i try not to socialise with these people as its true that friends do influence a part of who u r or become. unfortunately i dont know any practising muslims! Sometimes i wish i lived somewhere else! I try and help the people i know so i can have practising friends but unless Allah wills nothing can be done with these people...

sister people can be awful hurtful, the name for it is actually pure and utter ignorance and there jokes will not benefit them but only land them in a darker whole. i think your doing a very good thing but hang on in there and be strong when i wear my jilbaab and hijab some one made a sly joke with me and asked me was i going on hajj in which i replied to that person are you going to a club because you dress like the westerners LOL so sister you will find ignorant pple like this everywhere. the modern muslims dont know that we are meant to be dressing like a muslim everyday of our lives and not just when we are going to the mosque or hajj...there not realy into there salah but we have to continue to help our brothers and sisters anyway.
it sounds as though you are being shepherded towards choosing between your religion and your friends as though a wedge is being driven between two of the most valuable things you can hold in your life.
before you go and kick your friends to the kerb why don't you make an effort and throw a party for them at your place? - this would give you an opportunity to educate them as to the level of religious observance you expect at a party whilst also strengthening the bonds of friendship between your circle of friends.

my sister continue practising and involving yourself in islam as much as you can and eventually you will see members of your family going towards Islam too inshallah.
Just give them dawah in the most beautiful of manners- not all the time though but sometimes and show them the beauty of Islam and how it impacts you in a positive way and pray to Allah that he changes their hearts and Allah may change their hearts because of your dua's and prayers.
So have hope my sister and stick with practising sisters for you are much better off sticking with like minded sisters inshallah.

did you try send them email/pamphlet about Allah's anger, sins, death, grave? maybe that could melt the hardness of heart. Allah knows best.

You know sister I think you deserve much better friends then they are to you. Your friends should be leading you towards the good and advice you good things.
They behave the opposite way. I think you should make some new friends. Go to lectures at the mosque, there you will meet some nice sisters inshallah. If you live in the UK then that shouldnt be a problem really. Then you can actually share important stuff with your newmade muslim friends. You know like muslimclothing, familyissues, our religion and stuff. Much more interesting then the topics they are talking about.
Don't feel alone or sad sis. There are actually good sisters out there. The thing is you have to find them in the good places such as mosques, communityhouses or you just meet them at your familys or anything. Be carefull on who you choose to be close to you. As Hemza said your friends have a big influence on you no matter how hard you try to avoid that.
