    The Beauty of the Quran..

    السلام عليكم

This is a poem named "Beauty Of Quran" You can see the video of this poem on youtube by copying and pasting this link: youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=jsulzEgnZx4

    Beauty Of Quran

    Your words are so beautiful
    I have never seen
Anything more beautiful than you are
    You are with me
    Everywhere I go
You are a treasure I carry
    Wherever I go

    You are a treasure
Different from all the treasures of this world
Because you are a treasure I can’t live without
You are a treasure that I know
    Won’t leave me...
You are a treasure that I know
    Won’t harm me
    You are a true miracle
    You are knowledge
    Not like any other knowledge
    Why?
Because if I had all the knowledge in the world and not yours,
    Then I am nothing…

    When I’m depressed
    I come back to you
    When I’m happy
    I come back to you

    I have never seen
    More honesty
    In the world
    As you
    What do I want more?

I know you have no lies
    You show me the truth
    You show me wisdom
    You lighten my heart
    You heal my pain
    You brighten my path
    You teach me life
    You teach me tenderness
    You teach me care
    You teach me love
    You teach me patience
    You teach me strength
I just can't name them all...

    You are my guide
    When I’m lost
With you I know I'm safe

    And I know
That the closer I am to you
The closer I am to Allah
    And the farther I am from you;
The farther I am from Allah

But the most beautiful thing is
Despite how much we may forget you…
    You are always there

Re: The Beauty of the Quran..

Hello, I have read some of the Koran in English and don't find it all that beautiful. On the contrary, I find its phrasing convoluted and unclear and Mohammed comes across as a bit grumpy sounding in many verses. Perhaps this is the fault of the translator, or perhaps some grammatical structures in Arab don't translate well into English. Does anyone agree with me?

Nobody agrees with you. Have some decency, or is that a little hard for you? I can comment on the amount of porn/sexual related rubbish that is in your man made bible, but who's to say you'll have the same copy?

Unfortunately, I do not agree with you

Also, just to correct you, the Qur'aan is not the word of Muhamamd (P), they are words of God allmighty, ofcourse you may not agree.

To understand many verses of the Qur'aan better one would need to learn and study the arabic language of the Qur'aan, so indeed the english is the translation and not the actual Qur'aan, whereas the actual Qur'aan is in arabic it's original language it was revealed and is translated into many languages.

    .. peace ..

I have recited and read Al Qur'an back to back several times, ponder its meanings, and yet there was not one word said/stated by Muhammad (saw) in the Qur'an so I don't get why you got such impression?.

Maybe you should check whether what you read was actually Al Qur'an?

Also, if you want to compare the beauty of Al Qur'an and bible, read and comment on this thread:

I agree with you about the Koran being only the Koran when it is written in Arab.
As you say, the Koran is supposed to be God speaking, not Mohammed, my mistake. So, then I meant to say that the translation makes God seem grumpy.

You find the Qur'aan beautiful in translation then? Perhaps you have a different translation than the ones I have looked at. I am recently back from a trip to Vietnam where I read some of their poems, but they just don't sound that great in English, though, strangely, they seem quite nice in French...Maybe the Qur'aan translates better into some languages other than English too.

Nope, it is the Qur'aan and what is contained in it that I find beautiful, the poem sure does help a lot!

Which poems are you referring to?

I'm not sure, but this is your own opinion whether you find the Qur'aan beautiful in this language or not the other, but what exactly are you referring to that makes the Qur'aan seem 'grumpy'? any verse in particular?

Re: The Beauty of the Quran..

    thanks for the beautiful poem.

it's true that there is nothing as beautiful as the Quran in Arabic. reading it in English is not the same as reading it in Arabic. you won't really know the beauty of theQuran until you've read it in Arabic (with understanding, because understanding it makes it more beautiful, althought he verses are in itself beautiful). The same beauty is not transferred to translations of the Quran becuase translations are done by humans while the original is from God, whcih is why it's so unique. however, some translations are better than others. for example, the tone of the Noble Quran English translation is quite nice. furthermore, if one wants to be able to realize the beauty of the Quran, they should seek God's protection from the devil and should throw away preconceived thoughts, thoughts like this is a manmade book, etc as these sorts of thoughts that will hinder a person from getting guidance.

listening to the Arabic recitation is another way to feel the beauty of the Quran if you don't know arabic and can't read arabic.

Can you please tell us which parts of Al Qur'an that in your opinion makes God seem grumpy?

If you don't like Al Qur'an because you think God seems grumpy in it, I wonder if you extremely hate bible?
