Bassam Zawadi on ‘How Modernists Today Follow Madhabs….’
“I follow the madhab of Imam Abu Hanifa, I only disagree when it comes to applying Shariah law, gender relations, Jihad, recognition of Ijma as an authoritative source of knowledge, acceptance of hadith & consistently applying the Usool of the Madhab.”
That is Istihzaa (mockery) of the Deen. Bassam Zawadi is a very famous "Muslim Apologist". He feels he is doing good but the ideology he preaches is destructive towards the Deen.
In the message quoted, is he speaking For or Against those who do such actions (i.e. picking and choosing)?
There were many views espoused by him in the past which goes against what Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa`ah are upon, such as his theory on time and Allaah Ta`aalaa's relation to it. (The view of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa`ah is that Allaah Ta`aalaa is free from time; for Allaah, there is no past, present and future. Time applies only to the created beings. According to Bassam, however, Allaah Ta`aalaa is bound by time, wal `Iyaadhu Billaah.)
And verily for everything that a slave loses there is a substitute, but the one who loses Allah will never find anything to replace Him.” [Related by Ibn al-Qayyim in ad-Dâ' wad-Dawâ Fasl 49]
